Definadjectives

Will you stop crying, go to sleep
and finish all your food;

get up, get dressed, and ready for school
and lose the attitude!

Do your homework, do your chores
and let your brother play;

change that outfit right this second
finish the yardwork on saturday.

Don't talk like that, spit that out
wait 'til your father gets home;

stop fidgeting when I'm talking to you
haven't you ever heard of a comb?

Don't be late, look both ways
take your sister by the hand;

you're tracking mud accross my nice, clean floor
you will never understand!

Make us proud, say your prayers
quit that jumping on the bed!

If I've said it once, I've said it before
I'd be better off if I were, dead!

Get a job, move out, and get a life
you need to learn responsibility;

I love you, so...you've shaped my life
because, these phraes helped make me.....ME!

How they follow us still, every time you see or do this, or that their words come flying back into the mind and we can never get rid of them, even some of the words we replied with, not always so kindly, but when they are no longer there even the harsh sounding commands seem mellowed into faded impact and are almost become their opposite, soothing!

Love to you Ann.

in that my mother is still alive. I don't see her often enough, even though we only live less than 20 miles apart. I resolve to get down to see her more! I loved your poem. It reminded me of listening to my mom tell my younger siblings some of those very same things! of course she never had to say them to me! LOL At least she says she didn't! Ann is right, we never entirely forget the things and lessons that we were taught by our mothers. And strangely enough, find ourselves saying the same things to our children. Does that mean we are turning into our parents? Nice work! ~ Gee

Oh, Doc, what a poem!

Hopefully, we are all blessed with parents who also tell us how wonderful we are, and often enough that we remember that too.

~A

Some parents do nothing else Anna and I find that overdoes things, they think of themselves as invincible and get a shock when they hit reality out in the society of humans. A balance is the best perhaps, and I think my parents were good at that, we were forever competing my sister and I, and all the time we were just different, that could have been said I think.

Adjectives, without them literature would be the duller, they are the shine on the leaf when the sun shows us its colours in the day.
