Lao Tzu (570-490) B.C.

If there is to be peace in the world,
There must be peace in the nations.

If there is to be peace in the nations,
There must be peace in the cities.

If there is to be peace in the cities,
There must be peace between neighbors.

If there is to be peace between neighbors,
There must be peace in the home.

If there is to be peace in the home,
There must be peace in the heart.

-- Lao Tzu (570-490 B.C.)

In as much as blogs may be passed by I have posted the above in *poem*... I beg your indulgence.

How peaceful we are in our hearts depends on how easily we are thrown off our center, how old hurts and pain, words break us even in the present, where there really is no *danger*.... especially on a poetry group where words have as much power as we give them; as much power as we let them take away from us....and our peace.

I am a Taoist, but the problem is that we have old wounds that if not cared for properly can easy be open by the smallest trigger word. if all excepted the teaching. the world would be a different place. divercity is the spice of life. as I said in my poem "beyond Shangri-La"
this is a thoughtful post. but not easily accepted by most.
that's life or rather the human condition my friend.

Heaven and earth are like a set of bellows.
Although empty, they are endlessly productive.
The more you work them, the more they produce.
The mouth, on the other hand, becomes exhausted if you talk too much.
Better to keep your thoughts inside you.

-Lao Tzu

LIFE ISN'T ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORM TO PASS
IT'S ABOUT LEARNING HOW TO DANCE IN THE RAIN.

Oh look out there at the hills, the light on part of the Spring green trees, brilliantly green, the white lost clouds wandering aimlessly about disintegrating slowly, the deep grey background ominous, the sky above close to lit up white by intense sunshine -

there as in the human spirit, are the lights and shades, tints and shapes of our character, all wrapped up in the peace of the world, the great globe sailing through space seemingly forever, we live so short a while, and even probably exist so short a while, let us make the most of it and heed the great man Lao-Tzu.

Love to you my sister Anna, Ann.
