Osama dead!

Army special force have killed Osama bin ladiin, In Pakistan

I was truly disturbed by scenes of joy and celebration at the news. This is a time for sober reflection, not gloating revenge.

have to agree with you elf
i watched the scenes on fox and cnn today,
and found that i was uncomfortable viewing
such celebration

i can understand those
who suffered a personal loss on 9/11 saying
that the death was a form of closure for them

and i was truly happy for those who
felt that
one lady in particular was very sombre
in her interview, saying nothing really about
bin laden's death (no matter how hard
the reporter tried to wring emotion from her) ...the focus for her,
was finally feeling a sense of being able to
move on

"a time for sober reflection,
not gloating revenge"

my thoughts as well

cheers
p

I do not think it is as much gloating revenge as it may be more of consolation to all who waited for the day this character was finally captured. We sure would not want him again to carry out his hideous evil doings here in the states or anywhere in the world for that matter.
Why it took so long is beyond me and back many years ago I called it out. I knew he was probably in Pakistan and now they too will have to answer to the why he was so close to their military base and did not know anything about it. Sounds fishy to me..smells that way too...

That compound was built in 2005 and no one in the world picked up on it? Seems very quaint to me. We will see if we ever get the truth to the whole thing. For now I go on my own feelings and of my opinions of the whole very disturbing incidents.
.
I was truly disturbed on 9.11.01 to see how the other countries were celebrating the death and destruction to our people and our US flag, and how they too were celebrating a victory for this man who was behind it all. I also however do not think he acted alone and therefore reserve my right to speak only of this one horrendous day in our history. I am sure all of this will probably produce more retaliation towards our country and many other countries who have suffered through the atrocity of terrorism and ongoing wars

I am writing this not out of animosity on Eddie's blog as I noticed not a lot of people from the states here want to comment. I therefore reserve my right to freedom of speech and writing here. I hope all do the same in accord. I also believe we should get out of all the countries we do not belong in and let them fight their own wars with their own soldiers. I cheer to bring all our troops home sooner then later. Enough said on this.

Ms Mona

of young people chanting "USA" as if they were at a football game was not representative of all Americans, but it was nonetheless disturbing. The fact that others celebrated 9/11 is no excuse.

I know it's a really hard question to ask, and believe me us Australians have had to ask it too (remember the Bali bombings targeted Australians) is what have we done to cause so much hatred? There is no excuse for terrorism, but the question is pertinent. What examples have we set in foreign policy, ideology and behaviour?

I am not trying to be argumentative or to take away from the sense of closure that the survivors must now feel, just offering a different perspective, as is my way.

cheers,
Jess

By Assoma's own admission, what America did that he found so intolerable was we had the gall to station troops in Saudi Arabia. Forget it was by Invitation to defend Saudis against Hussein . Forget it was nowhere near Mecca. Also forget that it was the U.S. who armed him and Afghans when Soviets invaded to stay. He and his fanatic mad ilk just think they are in the right no matter what they do . I feel any who would not celebrate the death of one who sparked so much death and misery need to rethink their philosophy............stan

and you trivialise the deaths of atrocity victims by ignoring the fact that millions of people (who are not insane fanatics) hate America and failing to ask the real reasons why.

in the case of this evil monster it IS simple. In the cases of others who hate us it may not be so. I still think the U.S. has been the greatest force for good in this world in the past 200 years. But like people mistakes are made and the more a person or country does, the more apt mistakes being made is. One common complaint against us is our use of energy compared to other countries. But then left out is the fact we also make use of that energy in out producing other countries. We also use a great deal of it producing food to help feed a hungry world. Kind of strange that many of the countries that hate us most are trying their hardest to be like us or have received massive help from us. I wish them luck in times of disaster awaiting aid from China or Any Muslim country . I once heard an old guy sum up the reason so many dislike us "It's hard not to hate someone you're jealous of." By the way, isn't this blog about Assoma bin Deadun? not the whole world lol

It's easy to throw stones.
Through out all our histories we have celebrate death in one way or another, after our respected countries have avenge one wrong or another. It doesn't make it right, but still we have the right to celebrate if we want too. You have your opinion, but don't tell me if it happen that it was someone in your own family who was brutally killed by a wanton act of terrorizim. I think you would be singing another song. I didn't outwardly celebrate. but I was damn happy they caught and killed the SOB! Yes I had family and some of the guys who worked for me at the time. It was not a great feeling to think that they attack the USA, like a snake hiding in the grass. that was cowardly. We said we would not stop till we caught or killed the SOB. We kept our word, even after years of the bully hiding like a bitch.

We have come to the rescue of all your countries, Then it was all right, after we did what was nessary to stop the threat. We have celebrated together. So why bnow try and stop our parade.
Respect to you both, But I don't like the "Mr.Goody two shoes" act.
Yes, you are entitled to your opinion, I just don't like it, and that's my opinion.

My only regret at this monster's demise is that he was killed swiftly and not sent to his maker soaked in pig blood. Expect no apology for my statement........................stan

I see you have fallen for a common misconception. Assoma will not be greeted by virgins, but by angry Virginians lmao

These pictures on the tv some years ago:

Was there not a celebration in some countries the day our people were killed?
Were they not burning our flag and chanting hoorays for the actions of this plot of Obama's?

Why is that any different then today? Us Americans not only celebrate his capture but still mourn for the many men, woman and children who died this day and the many in the wars after this date.

Had 911 happened in any other country then America???

I would love to see their reactions at this news today.

Facts - it it is what it is folks...Respect our feelings in our country today. Thank you..

Thanks Eddie for allowing me to voice my feelings.. I am working on an article..maybe put in here maybe not..

Love Mona

Too many innocent lives taken all over the world from this thing called terrorism..I remember quite well all the stories my grandparents and parents shared with me as well as all I learned in school and college. It is sad so many innocents die at the hands of dictators and evilness. May the Great Spirit continue to guide us to a peace from worlds enemies and keep hope alive inside....

Your lines :- "Had 911 happened in any other country than America???
I would love to see their reactions at this news today"

Please, Ian if they would have taken out the Royal Palace with your Queen, your whole country would have scream for Blood, and partied in the street after they were caught. The world trade was our Crown Jewel. Please stop raining on our Parade.

So your statement can not be compared to our loss.

No need to clarify I have just written that to Eddie and yes I did write that line. I still hold my own feelings of this event and none of should be misconstrued against any other writer in here. It is a blog and it is of free will we may speak about our country just as much as any other writer writes about their country and the many mishaps that have occured over the course of many years. Thank you for understanding how we feel and being courageous enought to come on here and comment. I know you are not of a cruel spirit whatsoever and I appreciate you as well.

Peace Now

Innocent ones who lost their lives at the hands and doing of this man are to be remembered on this date and not the atrocities that this world is now going through because of the world's TERRORISM. Like you Eddie I will never forget that day and how my, young then, son was horrified to even see such pictures on the tv..my heart goes to New York and all the other places that the lives of our innocent people were taken so suddenly and in such a matter of destruction that NOTHING will compare to that day in our history.. You are right The Twin Towers was our Queen Jewel and so it will remain forever...pause....

Also to clarify it was I that said the comment if 911 happened in any other country how would they feel and not Ian. Just wanted to make that clear as he commented and I do not believe his comment was of ill reputeness but it is his comment and hopefully all others on this blog can step outside of their steel boots and put theirselves in our shoes or boots for a moment here

There are many terrorists still out there plotting against us, therefore we will forever remain vigilant this side of the globe...sigh..and pray for the families who lost their beloved ones in such a horrific manner...

Peace
Mona

It was Ian response to your comment I was talking about. I was just agreeing with you and clearing up for him that his comparison is weak.

Things happened in their countries too Eddie and we also must remember how the people in the other countries celebrated with the burning of our flag and cheering on the street as if to say hooray for all our loved ones who passed that day. To me that infuriated me more then anything and why is it so different now today that people are celebrating his death..It does not bring our people back but it does give the New Yorkers and the other states some form of closure I do believe.....

Please, there more stories of parents teaching kids how to hate. just look hard at the English and the Irish. Funny that it's still going on so do you think people are really learning.

was nothing but a common murderer, and I have absolutely no sympathy for him. He deserved exactly what he got, although I wish they could have taken him alive, and thrown his ass away forever, rotting slowly, forgotten in solitary confinement in a supermax prison somewhere.
But I'm deeply saddened by his stupid, futile and pathetic life and death. Here was a man who was respected by his peers, wealthy beyond the measure of most mortals, and with an obviously deeply-held religious faith. This man could have done so much good, could have effected so many people's lives for the better by using his wealth and education and power to stand up and make real changes in our world.
Instead, he carefully planned, funded, managed and carried out the murders of thousands of people, and ultimately killed himself, and his organization, by doing it.
And after all the pain and suffering he caused, after all the bloodshed and the hatred, all the fear, not a single thing is different. Nothing has changed, except for the security procedures added to travelling on an aircraft, and the price on the heads of those of his followers that are still alive, hiding like worms in the cesspits of the world.
What a complete and utter waste of what could have been an amazing life.
It's just fucking sad.

I do not believe in killing anyone either so this is a hard time with my own beliefs but I will say this it says so in the bible..I will not quote it but you can not go around and kill innocent people in other countries and in your own country and think you will get away with it. That is exactly why we have laws for these type of masterminded criminals. He should of not been treated in no different way. He committed atrocities in his name and the ones who he instructed to carry out these attacks...and there are more then one. He hated the Western World and he had carried out a most atrocious attack against our country on 9.11.01.

I never wish death to no human being as it is against my faith, but in this case I will take my pentance and say I am glad he is gone. I did not go on the streets and cheer that on but many people in New York and other parts of the world cheered his demise. I know a lot of people may not carry our feelings and they have a right to their own views on it as we do

My dear friend was killed carrying a paraplegic down the stairwell when the tower fell and they did not find him for many months later just before the search was called off. It was his St Christopher medal that shined that day that led the rescuers and his father and brother also a NYFD firefighter to his body. I talk to his father all the time and I wear his bracelet. What a great man he was, just like so many other innocent people we lost on that day were. They will never be back to enjoy life with their family and friends so why should Osama bear the right to remain alive as he was the mastermind behind the whole attack. I rest my case here on this blog for now and appreciate what you said as I hold similiar feelings about his capture and demise.

Enough said

Mona

Your's is a statement in fact. That's why I wrote the poem "Earned Fate" because from hell we are still getting fall-out. When we are angry, we tend to attack everything which might seem as an attack on how we feel. So your statement is proved with our reactions. I for one agree it's best to respect all my brothers and sisters opinion. My anger has become another weapon for this monster. So to all my friends here I say, I lay my weapon down and send respect and love to you all!!

I have not seen anyone get out of hand on this blog whatsoever. To me it is a rather well brought up blog. What I hoped I would see though is more American Neopoets displaying their feelings also. That probably is not what they want to do and I respect them for that but would also like to notate that no one should fear writing about anything in Neopoet. I do not hide behind my shadow as my shadow walks beside me therefore I write and I speak up.

You should read some other blogs on the net if you think this is bad. And no I do not go around bloggin about sin laidin..I got better things to write about. I admire Eddie to bring this up and I see no distaste to any comment as it is of others opinions and feelings we all communicate here as it is healthy in a way to do that without any mudslinging.. DID I just say that?:)

I for one was not going to deflect from the subject matter for it was imperative to me also that this mad man was found and brought to his own due justice for what he manipulated in his own name.. Now he could of gone to prison also and then we the taxpayers would of had to pay for his food and air conditioning.. I think not so fast that would of been an alternative. Remember the posters and what they said. There was a bounty on him for several years. I will bet also they will have found alot more imperative information with all his computers and papers they confiscated. Now how is that bad when it will possibly will thwart off any more attacks anywhere on the globe and I can bet you the others will be captured as well. Long time overdue..sigh

I still Hail our Navy Seals

Okay back to what I was doing.....

Your back, how great to see you!!

Sweetie I commend you, as it says in the bible, blessed are the peace makers, for they shall inherit the earth. (I para-phrase) Your statement is just that, and well received!
Thank you for you well thought out comment.
I am sure that there were Aussie who celebrated the SOB death too. I'm sorry for their loss, and stand with them against these ugly unjust acts on human kind.

That is so correct many human beings died on that day. Australians and all other nationalities from other countries. While I remain true to my country for what they established in his capture and demise I stand corrected also. Stan made a comment as well that is full of so much truth. While our world may not be safer from one mans death let us always be vigilant for there are so many that hate our country and other countries we must always remember and never forget. I think of our soldiers and all the soldiers around the world who are fighting this war on terrorism and look how many we have lost since 9.11.01. I think this blog is nothing but a way to write about how others feel and in no way disrespects other countries or human beings. There have been so many atrocities in our world in the past and we shall uphold our beliefs and our feelings on this recent news.
Thanks for you input, all of you.

On more serious note I can not wait to hear who knew in Pakistani that he was there all that time so close to the military base.. Truth will come out sooner or later and then we shall see if that country wants to pay back all the money we gave them for the hungry. We need to start taking care of our home front first before we dish out billions and millions to a country that we are now suspicious of,, Take care everyone.xoxo Mona

I said several years ago he was in Pakistan and they were probably protecting him. Just as Eddie says the plot thickens and they will get down to the nitty gritty and get all those who harbored him there. And then I would like to see the Pakistan Country return all the money we gave them so we can feed our hungry and help our homeless here in the United States... I don't want to say much on that as I am working on my next editorial about this. The wives knew alot also and we know more now that the Navy Seals retrieved alot of information and computers from that compound.

I can not believe he was so close to their military base and no one knew it. Will be very interesting to see just who knew all of this.. This truth shall be revealed all in good time.. just like the wicked witch of the Oz movie said..All in good time my pretty....
