END OF A DAY'S WALK

It's time I turned my feet for home
whence I've been gone too long;
the journey started with first light
and now the day is nearly gone.

The many trails I've walked upon
have all had twists and turns.
They've carried me through mid day's heat
and past cool evening's somber ferns.

At dawn's first light, my pace was firm
my step was sure and strong
but as the sun dips beyond yon berm
tired legs don't stride so light or long.

And now I think of all the folk
I've met along the way,
those who've hindered, those who've helped
or tried to lead astray.

Although the next hill calls to me
"What's on the other side?"
the light grows dim, it's hard to see.
Shadows have grown long and wide.

It's time I turned my feet for home
to she who's shared this path
so now I'll walk through twilight's gloom
....perhaps I'll hear a far loon's laugh?

You're the Dr. Frankenstein Of resurrection's
But, yours are not "Monster's" they are the children of a well spent Life.

LIFE ISN'T ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORM TO PASS
IT'S ABOUT LEARNING HOW TO DANCE IN THE RAIN.

Thanks. I'm using my time off from writing to transfer some stuff from old site and am being surprised by the response. Have 3-4 new poems underway but can't seem to get myself satisfied with them lol.............stan
