POTATO SOUP

When my love is feeling ill
with fever, sore throat, or a chill
or upset stomach, even croup
she sure loves potato soup

So I peel a spud or three
( depending on the size you see )
I take up a large sharp knife
and cut them up for my sweet wife

Then I set water to boil
and add a touch of cooking oil
drop cubed potatoes into pot
and add black pepper ( quite a lot )

Next I stir in lots of milk
add some oregano or its ilk
put in some salt but not too much
and some butter, just a touch

Cook it slow, barely a boil
and watch the spud cubes toss and toil
when they're soft and broth is white
I know the spud soup is just right

I put it in a chili bowl
serve it with crackers or a roll
knowing that in just a while
she'll feel better, give me a smile

Review Request (Intensity):
I want the raw truth, feel free to knock me on my back

Made me smile too. Spud soup sounds brilliant, especially if you've got a chill - no beans then?

Rhyming was smooth - poem was brilliant. Think I might have a go at making it myself.

Love to you

The stuff is pretty good for a simple dish lol............stan

smooth but the meter seemed off. I don't know, maybe I just couldn't see it. I loved the recipe for the heart and the soup. ~ Gee

Stan,

having now read your rhyming cook book, I am hungry and only potato soup will do. Can you do this as a spoken poem so I can add it to my iPod. I can then listen to the recipe as I cook.

Nice, light-hearted poem my friend,

HS

Earth apple soup in the countryside of Norway it would be called.
And it looks good if the potatoes are the best full of flavour,
so many nowadays are almost tasteless.

She is a lucky wife with a husband who makes her her favourite soup,
and then makes a rhyme so well phrased after it.

God show Stan, love Ann.

"The image of yourself which you see in a mirror Is dead,
but the reflection of the moon on water, lives." Kenzan.

I think the lucky one is the poem's author. Always good to hear from you and learn a new phrase (earth apple) lol.......stan
