Virtual Pagan Light For A Lady I Know

I cannot see her now,
lost upon the turmoil
of Llyr's chaotic ocean
for she is on a journey
time and distance
will not let me follow,
will not let me take her place.

I can feel her determination,
her quiet strength upon the wind,
and I know the fearful doubt
coiling round her mind and heart
for I have languished in
the same darkness unrelenting
the same darkness we have fought.

I will draw a guardian circle
on this empty silver beach
before the forests of our poetry
rising high behind me
and call upon all Lords and Ladies
of light and dark to grant her strength
of light and dark to lend their aid,

and I will build for her a bonfire
with branching words of poem,
and raise a blaze of warmth and light
glittering across dark chaos
to the loneliness of her horizon,
lighting her path back to us,
lighting her path home.

A fine celtic poem, its good to see some people discussing these issues of ancient myths. I don't have a criticism really I'm afraid, only this is quite magical and definitely in a vein I can totally appreciate. John

Thank you for your comment.
I am an old pagan, and have soaked myself in myth and legend over many years, lol. Celtic is my favorite, of course, being my heritage, but really when I write like this I write about whatever god or goddess grabs me at the moment, heehee. It makes for interesting poetry, and makes a lot of people at google and wikipedia happy, as readers try to figure out what I'm talking about!
;)
This is for someone I admire, someone I respect and have deep affection for, who is currently suffering another trial of life.
I am glad that you enjoyed it, John.

I know of this write and also the wonderful person who breathes gentleness upon those winds. I am in awe here and a tear to my eyes did come. Just beautiful words and visions of hope bringing this breath home again.

Much love and light

I know. You feel for her as I do. Add a branch or two to the fire, sweet Florida Lady, and watch for her return.

Light and love to you as well,

Yes, green. Green is the color of life, and thus of hope, to us shaggy old pagan types!
Look at undiscovered, I have something there that may relate.

:)

Good to see you writing again, sister. Awesomely good to know that you feel well enough to want to do so! PM me when your poem is ready, so I don't miss it - our site's beginning to reach that critical mass point where I start having to sift through the offerings with an increasingly fine-toothed comb so as not to miss anything, lol.

It is so good to have you back, Jayne.

I came to see what you've been writing... lots! lol :) the title of this one leapt out at me, having a few pagan tendencies myself! It's a beautiful poem Jim and had huge impact on first reading but even more so when I reread it after the comments. I particularly love the last stanza and have a log of my own for that fire :) much love Beki xxx

Welcome back!
It's good to see you.
Thanks for reading and enjoying, Beki. I'm happy to report that the lady in question appears to be doing wll, but drop her a line and say hello yourself!
Thanks again,

Respectfully, Race
