Early Monday Morning

I open my eyes slightly,
as the morning scurries about
gaining purchase in all of my senses
First the blatant light, then the chill
clinging to the edges of the night before

The colors and shapes play about me,
though I’m not yet fully awake
I hear your breath behind the quiet
before the world stirs to life

My gentle return to the waking world shattered,
LIKE A NEEDLE
SCRATCHING ACROSS
A RECORD!!!
by the press of a cold and wet canine nose
exploring deep in my ear! I sleepily push it away
over to her side of the bed, hoping the pup
will linger there until the alarm goes off, at least!

dogs are dependent souls. a puppy is in his developmental phase...a bundle of loving. I have cats, because Steve and dogs are not a good fit. Cats are independent and demanding. but they will reward you with purring...don't forget, everything is on THEIR terms, lol. be grateful for the puppy.

*hugs, Cat

know little about boundaries and think that when they are awake, the rest of the world should be too!
I think that maybe you didn't get to rest until the alarm went off. The title is okay, but then again, it isn't for an earth-moving epic. The pace is fine, it moves easily. I love the theme, because I love dogs and it flows well from beginning to end. ~ Geezer.

This must be the place, 'cause there ain't no place like this place anywhere near this place.

So true Geez! We love this little trouble maker, and will miss his puppy-ness!

Cheers
