THERE THE MASTER SLEEPS.

I once was an Angel
His father my friend
As Michael and Gabriel
Called me Lucifer then
An equal of heaven
Before an apple fell
Adam and Eve in Eden
Satan banished to hell.

As three numbers even
Three letters spell
Forever to believe in
For Eternity to dwell
Begins a new religion
The greatest story tells
Of a fathers kingdom
A son a city sells
Promising eternal life
Water from a well.

Of the three denials
Pontius washed his hands
Said, "He's not the Messiah"
Said, He's just a man"
Judas wrote a letter
As did Saul called Paul
Simon called Saint Peter
The nearness of us all
His church his rock beneath
A king a king condemned
The thirteenth letter M.

A painting of a picture
By day a star is found
In blood as night defeats
Above an entrance round
Where Mary's women meet
Secret tunnels underground
There the Master sleeps.

It's meant to be a bit cryptic.

Being an agnostic, and not a patron of any religion, but familiar with some scripture, I see the piece as an attempt to bring a message to someone. Whether this a one-off or a regular thing, I do not know, but you have written something that is pretty good. Not being privy to your message, I can't speak to the accuracy of the lines. So, I will just say that you seem to have written a good poem, no technical mistakes that I can see. ~ Geezer.

This must be the place, 'cause there ain't no place like this place anywhere near this place.

Thanks Geezer. I'm not religious. I did a little research but not sure how accurate it is. I just think when someone dies in those times they are usually buried near the place they grew up.

I will be cremated, and my wife will get my ashes. I think that there will be some little vials with a bit of ashes for a couple of my friends. If my wife should pass before myself, my sister will get them and give them to the people that want them.
Anyway, good work and keep them coming! ~Geezer.

the only comment I can make on this is: your structure is good, and your style is great. but I cannot comment on the content. as a child, I was religiously abused. it stays with a body.

Thanks Cat, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm far from religious, I have only ever read two books in my life and the Bibles not one of them. I do believe there is something out there though. When I was a lot younger I was house sitting a friends house. I knew this house very well as I lived there for a short time. It was a upstairs / downstairs. I don't drink or have never taken drugs but a saw a small boy, about 6 years old, sitting at the top of the stairs. He was watching me as I was watching T.V. He was wearing clothes that would have been from the last centaury but very good quality and clean. When he knew I noticed him he slowly stood up took one more look at me and slowly walked away. I freaked out, checked the whole house to find no one, everything was locked. So I believe there must be something after death but I'm not religious. Chris,

I've seen a few ghosts in my life, too. once I lived in a haunted house from age 12 to 16.I saw them and my mother saw them also my nephew who was a baby at the time. the house was an upper and lower duplex. the worst time was when I was babysitting my toddler nephew. I was in the living room watching tv, softly. my nephew started crying,as I was waling in to his room he was screaming. standing up in his crib, I plucked him up in my arms.he started screaming and sobbing, staring att something over my shoulder...I turned around and saw and saw a man strangely dressed! with nephew in arms, I fled to the livingroom and lay down on the couch comforting the poor kid, we fell asleep together, him clutched in my arms.

HI Cat, I sometimes wonder if we see them all the time out in public but we just don't know. I researched if a young boy died in that house but all I could find around 1904 a lot of young children were accidently poisoned around that era and area and also there was a plague. The young boy I saw had clothes on from around that period and probably come from a good family as he appeared neatly dressed and well groomed. Chris

I sometimes wonder that myself.
