Daddy don't cry for me......An emotional audition

I just saw an audition
the girl had to sing a song
for her 'dying' dad
who was
present in the audience
along with her mom

even the four judges cried
a poet must have the vibes
of being calm and silent
but the audience
should shed tears

weep loud enough
for the softest ears

then sing a chorus
what ever will be
will be
what ever will be
oh daddy don't cry

she won the emotion
now you try singing one

Emotional as well as a joyfull read. I have no tissue handy, so tears are running down my cheeks...lol.
Seriously, another good poem from you, as usual.
All the best, Gracy

while many come and simply glance
take a fleeting chance

You got ME right in the heart. For a second, I thought you were referencing that girl on American Idol that sang about her dad with him watching, and it was a very emotional moment for all involved, but when I saw "dying" dad, I knew it wasn't (I wanna say he had just recovered from alcoholism). What show was this?

JazzyGurl Emilee A.

same show I saw on tv recently
I changed the title
Someone liked this
but later mentioned
the guy really died .
So i couldn't then cry
She was naturally emotional
she won

so she cried
the audience also
I hope you liked it
what an irony maybe

I've read this poem twice, the first time I read it I didn't have the time to respond. very poignant. It reminded me of my Dad...he died when I was eighteen...I took it very hard. as usual you strike a chord with your fine poetry. thank you for this.

*hugs, Cat
