you're funny, tonight
you're quite a picture
and, quite a sight!

You play with the, big cats
and, play by yourself,
you see, invisible gnats
like some feline, "elf"!

You scamper, around
and, scurrie away,
with each, little sound
you're finding, new prey!

You take off, so fast
it doesn't, seem fair,
where your tail, 'twas, last
now, it's no longer there!

You "pounce!", from up, high
and, "bounce back", from down, low;
I'd swear, you could, "fly!",
but, it's impossible!

Jetting out, from the closet
and, through the bedroom,
by the, kitchen faucet
while knocking over,,the broom!

I call out, "Lil Joe..."
but, you run, just the same,
running, hereto, and..fro...
..in "Mister Whiskers", name!

This kitten's been, "blurring"
and, spinning like a top,
From, the very beginning
to where now, it MUST, stop!

A silly, "wink!"...of, a "nod"
in what world, do you play?
Expecting, all, to, applaud
from turning "invisible grey"!

It's well, after bedtime
"Mister Whiskers", must quit;
we'll try ending, this rhyme
so, don't...throw a "fit"!

You start, to wind, down
as, your, "purring"..begins;
and, that comforting sound
makes, your head want to..."spin";

so sleepy, your eyes are
they need, to go..."dream",
after, running so.."hyper",
you're tired, it would...seem;

now, you must sleep
tomorrow, you'll fight;
pick a star, and just...leap!
You'll be safe, 'til days', light!
