Barnyard Poem

Oh, these lusty days of May!
Beth, the farm girl sings all day,
Tra-la, la la, la lah la la.

Cute she is and without care,
Her voice peals sweet and clear,
Tra-la, la la, la lah la la.

Farmhand Hank offers her a kiss--
That’s one the milk cow would not miss,
But Beth sings, tra-la, la la la.

Ben, another idle would-be lover,
He blows a kiss--she runs for cover,
Tra-la, la la, la lah la la,

She hides among Alfalfa hay,
Then beckons Jack, “Come this-a-way,”
Tra-la, la la, la lah la la.

Nine month have passed, her belly round,
Of tra-la-la one hears no peep, no sound.
Well, there you have it; tra-la-la-la-la.

I know the time difference is probably a couple of hours,
but you seem to have gained a couple of months!
I'll forgive the sense of time difference, because of the funny tone
of the poem and the lesson learned. Stay out of the Alfalfa Hay with Jack!
I shall inform all of the young milkmaids I know, that singing Tra-la, la la
la lah la la with Jack in the haystacks, is forbidden! Funny stuff! ~ Geez.

This must be the place, 'cause there ain't no place like this place anywhere near this place.

there is no sin on the farm, things happen naturally in a rural environment, and I don't mean "self-impregnation." Thank you for accepting my cheerful tra-la la-lah-la song, kind sir.

Enjoyed your parable Jerry - If you play in the hay, you may pay a price one day! Well crafted - thanks for sharing this.

Cheers

"If you play in the hay, you may pay a price some day." Yep, let that by the word for today, lol. Thank you for those words of wisdom. I must pass them on to Beth---oops, too late. Thanks Michael.

You're welcome. We all need praise.

Yeah, I prefer praise over smelly cod fish; don't you? Thanks again, Em.
