As the last petals fall
She was my Rose
Her sweet smile
And perfumed skin
Were her beauty
I shed a tear
As her hand slipped from mine
For the very last time
The moment was both
Relief and Anger
How could she have suffered so?
In what world
Should she have felt so much pain?
Don't get me wrong
She was here until her last breath
But she wasn't aware
Even though I was with her
Twenty-four hours a day
I was alone, alone
My eyes open wide
We were in Hell on Earth
Her own body was her enemy
In the end
And as I place her
Pink flowery nightgown to rest
In her favourite set of drawers
For the very last time
I shall forever be grateful she was here
I shall be forever grateful she was my Rose.

As The Last Petals Fall
Hello, Teddy,
Soft and lovely. Personal, but shared in a very giving way. The ending is especially tender, as it feels actually unlike an ending, but an appreciation that will go on forever. Beautiful.
Thank you,

Wow Teddy! Very heartfelt and moving piece. I'm so sorry for the loss of the loved one this must be about.
"Her own body was her enemy In the end" This line really hit home for me - painfully beautiful!
Thank you.
