A Love Letter to Dante

You’re the king of my universe
Your poetry kindles my gentle heart
Where the river was born to a peaceful flow
We stand together as one sweet soul

In this the tempestuous ocean of life
Our paths have never crossed
There is no greater sorrow
Than knowing our hands will never touch
But you are deep within me

From my love of poetry
You’ve led me to your wisdom
“Love which absolves no one is beloved from loving”

You’ve captured me with your charm
For eternity it will stay
My love for you, will bring us to one death.

If I were Dante, and someone like you, read your letter over my tomb, then I would jump across the river Styx to thank you for your lovely poem. Tickled pink at your sweet words. Seriously, yours is a very nice poem. Much liked, Jerry (who loves Dante, as well).

Do you know, I love Dante more than I love my husband! lol from books and art I've seen he wasn't that pretty but he was full of passion and a very noble man.

Thank you...Teddy

Dear Teddy, lovely poem to Dante. I've only read The Inferno, so my idea is more of 9 levels, where we poets are on one of the first, that is, if we're pagans. And hell is made of ice! No Styx there.
I like the title, contents and spacing. You have some good inner rhymes, as well.
Enjoyed, will return, Gracy
