Yes, I Regret
Yes, I regret
The scornful dissipation
Of my salad days
When I was strong,
Believe me,
They didn’t last too long,
Believe me,
They didn’t last too long.
Yes, I regret
All that I squandered
O’er the course
Of about fifteen years,
Believe me,
I’ve cried quite a sea of tears,
Believe me,
I’ve cried quite a sea of tears,
Yes, I regret
If I e’er acted cavalierly
Towards any who sought to love me
With a trusting heart,
Believe me,
I’m not so proud of my past,
Believe me,
I’m not so proud of my past.

'Yes I Regret' was written and recorded as a song in the earlier part of 2017, with new, autobiographical lyrics tacked onto a melody which had been sketched out on piano when I was about 24.

I'd say so, Teddy...
...Yes, there is. It sounds OK, not one of my best songs, but it was written from the heart.
