On Waratah Nights

I sit in the dark, as far off
the scent of Waratah wafts
reminding me of you,

my mouth curves
in memories, as my face tilts
the moon, her red veils
run up my chest

faraway down the road
we may meet again
across a canyon of time,
our eyes will connect

I often wonder what yours
will dare tell me,
at the first dawning
will a ray of remembrance
burst through your iris ?

or will our words of anger
sour every glance,
turning those blue eyes
opaque

I live in wonder,
I breathe forgiveness
and only god knows
who you are anymore

but the Waratah, ever blooms
of you and sickle moons
in my smiles

so hope lives on
in the whispered cries of night,

and maybe only in my heart

a haunting plea of understanding, that keens through the Outback and brushes the ears of the nightime. I feel the need as though it were fingers gripping my shoulder, shaking it and asking for a resolution. Time heals most wounds, though the scars itch and burn for a lifetime. Yet, there is always hope. Keep that hope alive, never let it die. Higgest bugs, ~ Gee.

Sigh ... Hope is long dead.

But this is another story from a lifetime ago
Omg you have captured in comment the atmosphere i wanted to portray and project. That in itself is one of the best compliments ever. I finished this off tonight...

Thank you so so much

is mine, than getting it right. I feel as though, by getting the mood and the reason of a work; that I make it worth the effort of the writer. Love and higgest bugs, Bro.

Seriously you hit the nail on the head I really appreciate it more than you know when the reader dives deep to discover and feel out the meaning and tone of a poem.
It's nearly 5am I am going to lay down and have a sleep I haven't slept since 7am Monday morning so as you'd understand from your previous profession I'm super sleep deprived. I'm going to be back later in the day to read lots of poems. I am going to be sooooo glad when this move is done lol

The perfume of the Waratah drifts across the Oceans of the world, a glue that holds many things in the universe not perceived for ages.
Just a breath of lovers flaying at the inhere feelings to those that have become detached, and drift to be collected later.
A lovely write, feelings never lost little one, I am here and as always there where your shadow is cast even by a honey moons light.
Take care, out there and know we drift together always,
Yours as always, Da, xxx

Words can build a nation

Big big smile thank you so much for closing your eyes smelling the gorgeous scent of the Waratah. Did you ever get the pleasure of smelling it while you were here ? This was a real love, one that created other loves. It was my way of saying goodbye to that chapter of my life. I am super sleep deprived. I am going to sleep hopefully for a few hours until the pain killers wear off. Then later in the day I am going to immerse myself in everyone's poems for a few hours. A real treat after 46hrs awake and then a sleep. I look forward to returning as I've been having network issues preventing any internet use. It wasn't just me affected.

Anyway. I want to say what a beautiful comment it's a poem in itself.

Love to you always Jaughter. xx

I think your turn of phrase is really superb; I continually reread the poem just to enjoy this. I wanted to paste my favorite verse, but realized they all are, seriously. OK, I decide to chose one and ends with two.

What a lovely thing to say thank you so much for enjoying my poem that is the greatest compliment anyone can give me. That they enjoyed my work. This was actually one of my favourite poems to write and it's close to my heart. I apologise for the late reply for some reason I didn't get the notifications for this poem and a couple of others. I am going to check some other recent poems later in my day it's 5.08am here. I will return and immerse myself in everyone's poetry I look forward to reading you. Have a great day out there wherever you are.

Kindest regards Jayne x
