Do you want us to continue live readings of your work?

Chris (vandiemenspeak) Hall and myself are happy to do them for you or teach you how to do it yourself.
Many people have found it invaluable in hearing their voice in another's voice purely to improve their work.

Yet we have got very little feedback. There is quite a lot of work involved which we are happy to do if you get value from it,

We would love some feedback on this, please.

or fine to continue?
Have you got any value from the readings?
Really man, it is a labour of love but is it of any value to you?

misplaced stresses is a LOT of help. At the same time I think that a writer doing their own reading might show how the poem could sound with just minor misplaced stress points

I would like to encourage all members to record and upload their own readings.

The tech might be daunting to some at first but the 'learning curve' on computer stuff is nothing like a curve, it's a series of jumps and plateaus. Whenever you make a jump to the next thing it immediately becomes so obvious you can't understand how you didn't understand it.

That, by the way, is why IT people often come across as such complete dicks. They have both forgotten how hard it was to get where they are and are preoccupied with that next learning leap.

Would you prefer to learn how to do it yourself does it help hearing your work in another voice?

Or both?

I certainly agree that listening to a poem, especially when done by the experts with good tonal voice and modulation adds another dimension to a poem also helps identify glitches and work on them to improve cadence...

I appreciate efforts being made by you and Chris Hall...

academically speaking (applies to all writing even though website only mentions essays):

Maybe folks who aren't sure about having their work read aloud by Chris and Jess or who aren't really able to articulate if or how it is useful can read this and see why.

Some other resources:

How to Read Poetry aloud for beginners:

Why You Should Read Poems Aloud:

I really don't care for this company's fastetious rhetorical choice to call beginners dummies in all their book titles and website, but the information is useful. Do better next time, company.
