The Christmas Holiday Season
Christmas has come again
It's a great time of year
To be with your friends
And enjoy some great cheer
Is it all about gifts
Or trimming a tree
Give each other a lift
And some Christmas glee
It can cost so much money
If we have it to spend
Certainly not funny
If you have none to send
People are more generous in the holiday season
Bless their hearts; every one of us
Whatever they do; whatever the reason
Do it without a fuss
It's a tough time of year for some
They can't wait for it to end
They have no where to call home
And no cards to send
Thank goodness they still get a turkey dinner
Of mashed potatoes, stuffing and corn
They do remember and keep it in their hearts
This is the day Jesus was born.

I feel Christmas is a very difficult time of year for a lot of people. I wanted to write something that is maybe not so pleasant, but is more realistic.

the moods of Christmas nicely created both pleasant and subdued..would flow better I think if you can shorten stanzas 4 and 6...of course it's my opinion...listen to what others would say...

you made the difference very clear, and brought it together with the good Christmas feel.
i would recommend would be getting into slightly more detail to captivate and understand what brought inspiration to this poem. what brought the poem to life.

Christmas... yes may merry be it be.. to all worldy
but some are so poor
in Canada
you well know
to put a glow
2 or 3 dollars worth mouthful
for all poor
the light of Jesus does show
Thanks giving they got a half a meal
Jesus must be happy also
the rich participate on his Birthday
to feed the dying the poor God bless em all
Nice expressions of Xmas
but poetry makes no one rich
only PUBLISHERS flourish
all know it
but still compose
Jesus will be mighty happy
Xmas is being widely celebrated
