Hurricane Florence

She may not hit us directly
We may feel her wrath precisely
Her eye moved to the right
North Carolina's plight.

They say it’s as bad as Hugo
Twenty nine years ago
My spirit knows her greatness
Understands her fierceness.

Clouds so beautiful, my heart soared
Sunset most glorious days before
Gloom of destruction in the clouds
Thick gloom blankets the south.

I fear not her rage
Mother Gaia's wage
Fires on the West coast
Hurricanes the east coast.

Hawaii volcanic woes
Each region had its foes.

your sentiments pretty vividly expressed in this poem....please take best care and we hope that precious lives are saved due to the advance warning....our hearts and prayers are with all folks in the path of the hurricane...

If there is anything doing in prevention of such i wish I could do it, but let's go in conversation with God on our kneels surely i know he will intervene.

I appreciate your read and kind encouragement

but don't like the introduction of the fires on the west coast...doesn't belong to me being added at the very end. The poem does not appear to be about the planetary chaos from global warming, but an acceptance of the awesomeness of nature. Which you do not fear. Having been in some storms...I would!
I live in DC. We'll get a lot of rain. Best for you on the coast!

I appreciate your perspective. The fire belong as a comparison after some research on the fires don’t seen to be manmade since trees are burning from inside and sending sparks 50 miles away burning up property. I’m not into the political correctness of global warning but see earth as purging herself of all this negativity.

I'm just glad the storm dropped to a cat 1 before landing. The flooding is bad enough especially in NC .I like the way you chose to talk of the beauty instead of dwelling on the destruction. Perhaps you could lengthen last stanza by a line or two in order to more smoothly say each coast has its own demons to deal with. Take care and keep your feet dry.......stan

Take care out there. So glad the winds was calmed down because this was the worse on USA history. God helping us through earth purge. Great suggestion. I will do that. You get where I’m going with this
