IS IT IS OR IS IT AIN"T?

All these trees are like the columns
of ancient cathedrals pierced by light
And the loam is rich deep carpet
making each step soft and right.

The singing brook is a refrain
of music found in just this place
where I often go to brood
when doubts assail my lined face.

Nature always brings me peace
without need of a congregation
is this quietude religion
or just rampant imagination?

but I would think it through. You are posing an interesting question which is not for the reader to answer, but you. What is the difference between religion and the imagination? Blake would say "god is the imagination" So might Keats and certainly Tennyson... but this is your take on it, so explore it.
What is religion to you? What is it about nature that so inspires you?
Until recently poets wrote long poems- at least a page or two anyway. This must be a much longer poem, in which you solve the riddle yourself, and let your craft lead us to the poetic truths of your answer.
My take.

I'm not sure what is this about. I'm sure it's my heavy head.
but usually you're more straight forward.
Is this really about religion as Mark is saying?

Not to worry. I Know it needs work to clarify meaning ( which is the conflict between feelings of awe brought on by nature and religion. I Really missed the mark didn't I?

neither it is stan
too short and
the foundation is not quite apparent
God is just the creation of mind
Religion is an outcome of an age old profession
now going behind the veils of time
but don't worry
its bells will not chime
at least in our times

Yeah, keep checking over time as this one will reappear (hopefully improved) over time as I edit......stan
