Deep down Blues

Today I have the blues,
The deep sad blues:

Me, staring at the world
And nothing really wrong,
Just that I cannot be there,
Where my heart desires
To be.

Earlier I received a beckon
That set my hunger for truth;
Only my light dimmed on me.

And now these cravings
For deep beautiful mystery
Bring a sad emotional swell
To my eyes.

And unable to be there,
I can only weep
Tears of sweet sadness.

THE DEEP DOWN BLUES

Today I have the blues, the deep sad blues:
just staring out in space, and nothing wrong,
my misty tears in search where joys belong,
to sweep my dears in heart’s embracing hues.

A beckon came to light my shore, and set
my search for truth, but sparks of shining sea
In waves of light that dawns, now dims on me:
my spirit captured, rolled in leaden net

So now I sit to wash and face the pains,
that bring this deep sad hunger for release;
-As cravings crawl in pain to pay the lease.
O cries of sadness, tears my soul now rains!

O sign, O symbol, you call my hunger
You force me purify a little longer.

that in the second stanza, you are speaking of someone giving you a come on, only to find that they were not serious or changed their mind. Maybe you can make that clearer? ~ Geezer.

coates these lines dear friend. I always like these emotional moments, for without them we don't value high the happy ones.

a melancholic mood created in these verses...

this stanza:-

Earlier I received a beckon
That set my hunger for truth;
Only my light dimmed on me.

Sounded to me like:-

momentarily I saw a beacon
driving me to the truth
fading my light of hope.

Your impression is basically right, but it is not about a person, but a state of mind. Your comment makes me think I should have used mind instead of heart. I following lines like, "a beckon
That set my hunger for truth;" and "cravings For deep beautiful mystery" was my attempt at clarification.
I very much appreciate your comment because I have a tendency to be obscure in my poetry.

Dear Rula
thank you for feeling the mood of my poem. It makes me happy as I have always sensed the goodness of your heart.

Hi raj
I like you interpretation, only I would change it a bit.

momentarily I felt a beacon
pulling me toward truth
only inspiration left me

The point is I was not mentally strong enough at the moment to follow the beauty offered me.
