CHANGE

We thought of revolution
we dreamt of transformation
we thumb printed upheaval
suddenly here comes a knock-
on our heads unexpectedly.

they call it change though
it's a chain at the opposite
change you said begins with me,
what happens to you?
if all eyes can see the
same fact justice shall reign.

a change from positive to negative
from better to worse
from frying pan to fire
from one bedroom to homeless
from one plate of food to none
from motor circle to tracking
friendship to enemy
from laughing to crying
subsidy to scarcity.

the time for a good vision-
is now if we wish to,
the time of accomplishing mission-
is at hand it's a choice to make
think positively,
change positively
for a good change we all needs.

Review Request (Intensity):
I want the raw truth, feel free to knock me on my back
Review Request (Direction):
What did you think of my title?
How was my language use?
What did you think of the rhythm or pattern or pacing?
How does this theme appeal to you?
How was the beginning/ending of the poem?
Is the internal logic consistent?

and I'm sure my Aussie accent won't do it justice though I hope it gives you a feel of how it reads aloud. https://vocaroo.com/i/s1lqBC8nEnc4

There is clarity, hope and anger in this.
The final stanza though, I feel needs a more specific call to action.
"think positively,
change positively
for a good change we all need"
Sounds good but what really needs to change? The chains of ignorance, the enslavement by corporations, solidarity amongst the oppressed and more.

One line I didn't understand
"from motor circle to tracking"

your sentiments pretty vividly expressed in this poem about "change" ...ironically it is perceived differently by different individuals to meet their selfish ends...and in the bargain the true change that's is expected to happen for better life is lost...your poem is true to fact and reason ..

but this is not a sentiments really, going through the history of Nigerian's democracy you will see the extreme hardship the people of this country are facing, and if you are a Humanitarian this story would have touched you life.
