Time And Pespective

I'm looking for a metaphor
I left it in my top desk drawer
where I store all my fancier garble
under lock and key in a little box
behind a blank folder decored with
plastic color tabs

It was to remain in hiding
until the proper timing
t'was too good to squander on
lowly prose

it's been so long since
the light of day has squinted
past the lid, darkness had become
its preferred environ
like a once beautiful woman
hiding her decrepitation
under veils and seclusion

so with great trepidation
I decided today to reveal,
which at one time I considered
greatness, to the world of master
poets....

here goes

on a ragged scrap of crinkled brown grocery bag,
a single line of scribbled words...

"love is a warm puppy"

I grabbed the silver plated letter opener
from the desk top
and thrust it into my jugular
(metaphorically speaking)

thank you Gee

the donnybrook, I won't apologize for, just sorry it was on one of your pages.

paraphrasing Thomas Jefferson (I think)...

" i never thought to end a friendship because of one's differing political or religious views"

thanks for your support (on my poems)

I love a good disagreement or political argument. I will go along with Jefferson and declare that the only disagreeable argument is one that is boring. [My own quote.] I am not particularly annoyed.
Your work is almost always humorous and never boring. Thanks for the good morning. ~ Gee.

you are some sort of a postmodern William blake.. as a natural poet you are in touch with a universal language..some men suffer words for no reason whereas you boom with the very best of them.. keep up with the words and always fight the power..

a very gratifying critique
I am truly flattered by the comparison
a standard I hope to maintain

thank you very much, Mario,
