Our World is Virtually....

Our World is Virtually….

Do the Syrians know the greengrocers is closed,
that the Chinese have just elected a god.
Mrs May stumbles on with brexit now exposed,
held up by the D.U.P.,s wink and nod.

In America Mr Trump plays the fool,
shouting at niggers for taking a knee.
His twin Boris in Britain, at best he’s a tool,
both born in the land of the free.

Seriously I believe the world has gone mad,
and the poorest are paying the price.
It’s not just North Korea’s missiles that’s bad,
but their poor people are starving on rice.

Mr Putin is putting the boot in America’s shame,
by pretending to wrestle out in the wild.
Bare chested he rides a horse with no name,
the same animal he rode as a child.

In Scotland we have another lady in charge,
some voters think she’s on song.
Stamping out Labour with heels far to large,
listening for Ben’s big bad bong.

I still think the Germans will save the day,
finishing what they started in thirty nine.
This time ruling Europe in a peaceful way,
not allowing their war hero’s to shine.

The Mexicans say please build that wall,
high enough so the world can’t see.
All that corruption that stalks city hall,
while the army does murder by decree.

In Cuba their sad the great man is dead,
but his legacy will live on and on.
As capitalist America starves them of bread,
and still can’t pull their people apart.

Haven’t heard from the Australians for a while,
those poor reserved creatures from down under.
Perhaps dear Rupert the Ambassador of guile,
still wants to own the sky plus it’s thunder.

In France the rich right wing are back,
never mind the left shall win next.
In Italy and Spain I see a crack,
still their always between and betwixt.

I’d laugh but I fear Pakistan is a mess,
while the Indians are not that far behind.
Being female means only a dog is worth less,
and they must look upon their rapist as kind.

Can we really Slip past the Africans,
all the many countries there within.
Because I contend that the best laid plans,
have just helped the deviates to win.

I’m lying here on a couch made of leather,
probably made by a poor slave.
I believe even free from a tether,
real freedom demands you are brave.

So sleep well where er you sleep my good friend,
remembering the virtual world never closes an eye.
Dream of a corrupt capitalist world on the mend,
well, have you ever known big brother to lie.

All in all this worlds not a bad place,
it’s just a pity we humans inhabit.
Sometimes I hate being a part of this race,
when even if we’ve got it, do we get it.

It is clear and obvious you spent a lot of time and a lot of emotion to write this. Of course I and most sane people agree with you by in large, but sanity is not, nor has ever been, in big supply in history. You are taking a big scope of inequalities or brutalities around the globe today, and taken your swipes. It is more a polemic, a speech put to a poetic form. My only comment is to paraphrase the words of the great GB Shaw; it tells of things "Intelligent people already know, and stupid people don't care about "

That said the poem takes a more personal turn in the last 2 stanzas:

So sleep well where er you sleep my good friend,
remembering the virtual world never closes an eye.
Dream of a corrupt capitalist world on the mend,
well, have you ever known big brother to lie.

All in all this worlds not a bad place, (needs to be "world is not a bad place..")
it’s just a pity we humans inhabit.
Sometimes I hate being a part of this race,
when even if we’ve got it, do we get it.

Corrupt capitalist world is cliche- you have not proven why this capitalism is corrupt, any more than feudalism, socialism, or monarchy. You introduce the allusion to big brother...it is not covered by the narrative,,,In the last stanza you switch gears a bit saying all in all its not a bad place if you take away the humans...nature is a brutal, violent, uncaring monster, is it not? The whole ocean of big fish eating smaller fish and insects to mammals all involved in hourly carnage, infanticide, alpha male over the females, chimpanzees in acts of cannibalism after their territorial wars. This is no garden of Eden without humanity. Lastly I totally do not really understand the last line..getting what?

What you write is important, and we should be diligent. Change will only come through action. We need you, the youth of this new world, with their new forms of global communication, to use the technology to join hands and start making small changes.

Emotion yes, time no, i wrote this in under an hour. I always get it out as I feel it. That's what i believe poetry is about, yes form, structure, stanza, does play a part, but poetry is about gut feeling. Raw beautiful love, or wild wonderful anger. And as far as the other animals on the planet, they do this for survival, body and gene. We are supposed to know wrong from right, be the intelligent animal. We are on the cusp of creating artificial intelligence, shall we build it in our own like. Or shall we dehumanize it and make it less destructive and murderess. You state yourself the intelligent people already know, most of them are working for the (cliche-) corrupt capitalist world of banking, weapons, oil and power, medicine- ie drug companies. After watching the Syrian peoples suffering again in the news, i couldn't sleep so i wrote this. who judges my intelligence for caring. Regards Roscoe...

PS, I am not a young person any more, ( unfortunately LOL ), and i do act. I am a signed up socialist who has enough intelligence to know that things won't ever change until people believe in themselves. And stop following all the media guff, geared towards making the wealthy more wealthy. Regards Roscoe...

Seriously I believe
the world has gone
......................................mad,
and
the .................................poorest
are paying the

hasn't this been since ages past
and shall always be ages hence
we all remain in
animated suspense

now you also have suspended reading me
but this poetry was pictorial indeed

Yes, but more so since this government started kicking people out of wheel chairs, claiming austerity was the only way. The banks created a mess, we bailed them out and of course the conservative government ruled by the banks use this as an excuse to make the poorest pay for it. Regards Roscoe...
