To a record stuck.

"There's a language warning on this next tune, so turn your radios down if your offended by 'language' " JJJ Radio, general pre-track announcement Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

Televisions across the land,
whisper conspiratorial plans
or keyboards played by lonely hands
the same old lonely tune

Spouses locked in loveless trysts,
teens linger at naked wrists,
the blue suits of the world twist,
out the same old lonely tune

Derelicts, so called, are walking,
thuggish dealers, darkly talking,
deals are made and some are balking,
at the same old lonely tune

When Monday comes, we'll all be driving
some will call in sick or skiving
all for Friday will be striving,
to hear the same old lonely tune

Take this jukebox, plainly fucked,
take these leaders, money plucked,
take our very lives, dumbstruck,
and change the god dimmed tune

I dream of days, when all are dancing,
the melancholy, lift to chanting
mandate: romance, all are panting,
on the day we change our tune.

Last few words:
This just came up after being made to endure: The voice, Britain's got talent, The Euro-vision song contest, Brexit, The US election, the 60 minutes report, the exploits of oligarchy, the prospect of banality, The house of cards (US version), The nightly news, Fox news, the ABC news, the shopping channel, the same coffee franchises the world over, the same fast food outlets the world over, the sports shoe industry and it's child labour force, the tech industry (Apple, Microsoft) and it's slightly better off child slave labour force, the utter amnesia for the plight of the Syrian ,Yemeni, Iraqi (actually take your pick from a cast of millions) of peoples. The apparent abandonment of Googles "global conflict map" due to there being too many conflict zones, zone strikes, extrajudicial killings, the abhorrent behaviour of the Catholic church, and the fight outside the pub I saw. Oh and lest we forget: Trump and so called "trap" music - lord help me. Sorry, that's better off my chest than in. Cheers, Chris. PS ourely rhetorical, no need for comments if you don't really want to.

The frustration is not yours alone,
it seeps, puddling our very homes
it never stops, it's like we're owned
by the same old fucking tune.

we are in this together, the super rich
have rigged the deal, it's a global dilemma
not everyone can see.

thanks for posting, I may not always
comment but enjoy your smithing.

More a therapeutic rush of frustration, after a long day.

but thanks all the same, you're correct we are all in this together..

Chris.

so many people want to get off the grid! Guess we need something to take our minds off from the plague that is humanity! I know, let's all try to solve the world's problems! How about we tackle a few of the big problems first?

Over population: Limit our procreation
World hunger : Limit our population
Damn! I think we just solved the whole thing in one go!
I mean, think about it, fewer people means less pollution and need for mindless, banal entertainment, etc.~ Gee.
