Footprints

Footprints

Walking on the beach on a mid Summer's afternoon

Through a doorway of hope we can cope
A line is being formed in the sand you understand
When you see one set of prints in the sand
Be aware that he carried you

In every human heart there lights a spark to what it is
To what we were truly waiting for lest I implore
Shattered fragments on the cements floor in darkened resin
A field of dreams sought back the vital means

We captured a smile out of a lonesome child
It's the call of the wild in it's vast formation
Let's bring in view both family & friend's
Having so much fun with the hope it would depend

We see footprints in the sand & smile
Light & love shall sprinkle are hearts with it's joy
In search for a reason to let go & let God
Like a hungry dog in a trash can do you all understand

The radio plays your favorite song so sound the alarm
A pulse of the heart should light the spark to what were waiting for
To be young once again to walk this earhly sod
Travel to new heights abode in it's timeless plight of old

As a young child we sought images in the sky
The clouds would take shape of faces a soft reply
Let us treasure a red rose that was plucked a time before
Snap shot moments of our lives with the hope that it would last

There is to voices the seek self to please
The other is a small still one that will bring you to your knees
A tug at the heart should light the spark to what were searching for
Footprints in the sand hopefully you will one day understand

author comment

I can see that you put a lot of thought and effort into the writing of this piece. I usually don't comment on religious themed works, as I am more of a spiritualist, and not religious. have a good week.
