The Ginninderra press

Just some good news and a big thank you. The good people at Ginniderra press, also known as GP - is a small independent publishing company in south Australia, have just celebrated 20 years in publishing poetry, which is achievement enough in the tough world of publishing today. They have been heroically run by a couple who distribute their books in a small shop in Adelaide, and also throughout Australia via all discerning retailers.
They also recently took on the publishing of the "pocket series" poets, which was previously published by the Picaro Press, and I have been deeply honoured by their recent decision to publish a small "Chapbook" of my poems entitled " A shorter history of longing" - which has enjoyed a small number of sales down here in Hobart, gateway to the south pole!

If anyone is interested in the Ginniderra Press, or indeed considering publishing via them, you can check them out here at their home page:
http://www.ginninderrapress.com.au/

It's a little tricky to navigate, due to the sheer volume of titles they have accumulated, but for those who've read my stuff and hopefully enjoyed, you can find my title here:

http://www.ginninderrapress.com.au/Picaro%20Press/picaropoets.html# (scroll down and look for the picture of the Lark and title " A Shorter history of longing" artwork courtesy of my Son :) )

Anyone interested in submitting work can do so from the title page.

Hope you enjoy.

Thanks.

Chris.

I shall myself never publish
I consider the freesite a
"published" monument
due to my artwork experience
as soon as the "sale" part
of it was done and it got
shipped away I felt
rather less..my own
experience for art

but it is inspiring too see
other authors published
I just also dont have the
balls to get it together
and do this...
ha..

I enjoy reading your
tailored works here
though very much

Thank U!

Mr Esker!

I'm digging the new suit and open neck shirt BTW look like a man on a mission- I'm pretty sure that infamy and fortune isn't quite knocking at the door as far as the old sales go - was more a cool thing to see in actual paper, give to the kids, send the old folks a copy or two. No-one was more surprised than me when i sent them a few to see what would happen, and low and behold they said, come on in!

Thanks - take care.

Mr Steven!

That's put in mind of Stephen King! I actually quite like some of his early stories, I like the sense of stasis in time, the cosyness of being closeted in a strange mad reality of your own creation, and in there creating and creating, warm in the cocoon of a wine buzz and smoking innumerable Benson and Hedges..actually what I'd probably be doing if i didn't have a good woman to keep me on track, and three little big ones to feed.. sometimes fantasize about the ideal..a little shack by the sea, a laptop, a wall of salty books and sodden notebooks, a fathomless bottomless supply of fine wine (a cellar would be requisite) a desk, not too large, facing the sea, a pot belly stove and a stick fire, I wander out on the shingle beach odd occasions, then in to town to get supplies whenever I need them, hit the big smoke, Melbourne, adventures, girls, return, Hobart debauchery, retreat with a strange group of bandit-ti - wreck the joint, clean up, start again - after paralysis and all the shadows leave, eventual release and relief and then again creation... now I'm back here again!
I used to do all that...was the way it was..who knows, maybe one day it will be enough again. For now, every thing kind of works, has a balance.

I'm glad I got something out there, it's actually now two, as they asked me to write another one (A Rook wind and other poems) same publisher. Minor celebrity and incurred costs beckon!

Thanks for stopping by Esk.

Take care.
