Feelings in writing

I was as usual this morning reading the words of our poets.
Steve (Esker) Joe (Geremia) and of course Rula, words of feelings pain and a substance that I can only play with.
These poets are precious to our site they bring true feelings, if only we could bottle this and give it away.
There is a need for us to understand what is written, just reading is not good enough, how to feel.
It would be great if one of these three would do a workshop on feelings then maybe we would be able to write more from their teaching with truthfulness.
I shall put on stream a piece I wrote when I was in Dubai as Rula is ("Away from Lebanon") but for Rula the truth of her country is real whereas I am just a writer, as her "Darling" piece I read this morning, just have a look and you will see what I mean,
Yours Ian..

You are correct that a lot of writing can be technically almost perfect yet lacking in feeling which makes it dry and lifeless. I'm as guilty of such as anyone here. So thanks for pointing out a shortfall in a lot of poetry.........stan

I usually have music playing in my ears as I write each day, the feelings sometimes are tainted with the flow of the music I hear or feel, then there are times no matter what music is playing truth comes through and fantasy is abundant, we must learn to capture all the feelings and then paint them with words.
Your walks through the woods are akin to some I write so we must try and teach others how to feel and paint, a tree is not a giant weed is it lol. If you cut it does it not bleed,
Have a great day out there and thanks for your visit, Yours Ian..

I couldn't agree with you more Ian, a poem with a feeling expresses the mood, just like Stan works his magic of words to create a pseudo experience of walking with him through the woods or hills or more recently on the beach..

raj (sublime_ocean)

It is grand to walk with you also, there where the spirit and this plain meet a blurring of the universe where there is no time.
My Children friends, never eat or sleep and can be in many places at once, they have shown me how to use the think and colours that we can only dream of but that's another story.
You would love the books that they have in their Library of knowledge, every word ever written and I wont go into the ones that are thought and not written lol.
An art Gallery where there are at first empty frames then a title catches the thoughts and then the frame becomes alive, bet you wont find many pictures like that lol.
Take care young raj and thanks for your visit,
Yours as always, Ian..

pretty much...adrenalin...fear..anger..boredom......Poetry is this weird Lah Lah Land experience..Feelings are the outside from people things and places....I havent had a
great run with any of that where I come from....Not to blame which I do often....not to judge
which I find hard not too......I think poetry is just another dreamscape for me...the pretend
world.....so I wouldnt say too much about feelings from me as a Poet Persona...oh and
paranoia.......Pain is a feeling and a few I know are into that...most of my work is idealizations
theoretical....i do like service work for people.....but im cantankerous about it...but I am good at it.
like the poetry I guess...(big grin here) i had to have this ego or I would have been crushed..I thought emotions were feelings.....but Nope....learning lots though today...thanks Ian..appreciate your hard work here!
Esker ..

This is where we try to understand our poets and what drives their words.
Your Ego is fine but the freedom you have from motor bikes, to just loving, and cars of course, but I guess you hide in those words, a million thoughts that are captured though fleetingly on the tips of your fingers.
Your words make many think and the ones we cannot unravel are where you hide the best, stay as you are and one day others will wonder at your words for ages,
Yours Ian..
