As you can see there are only around 10
of us commenting.
I didn’t think that it required any more work
On showing what is happening.
Jess is so right when he says we need many
more members here to participate,
I am lucky that I can spend much
more time than most writing here.
We need to come up with some good Ideas
to stop this lack of writing here.
I am still of the view that if we had a book
incentive on Neopoet many more members
would come in and write and learn more.
Now come on let us get a bloody grip of
This site and make it work for us better,

Would anybody be interested in having a poem or two published in an anthology chapbook of poets here? To keep the bosses happy we can't have it in title or anywhere in the book that it's a book by Neopoets but I think about everybody who has a poem in the book would likely buy at least one copy just to see themselves in print. If I do this all profits on each sell will go to the site to help pay for site promotion and such.
If enough people respond on this blog to put together a book of about 40-50 poems then I'll proceed with gathering cost figures and getting a committee together for purposes of editing. It will likely be approx. a month before I have the money together to proceed and probably another month or two before we're ready to send to publisher.

The more active a person is the more they are likely to learn enough to be a contributor and also the more likely that they'll be asked to contribute more than one poem. So get back in practice and let's see if this idea can be pursued.........stan

It is Summer in the North at the moment and that is the usual excuse for the slow down of Neopoet.
Your Idea about the book is excellent and it would pay for its self.
There are a lot of printing companies that do this, each poet pays for a book,
Each book of say 40 poems at $25 would bring in $1000
This would be enough to have them printed and with a sum left over for the site..
I am in a few books here that do this type of printing I know it may sound like a self praise thing but outside of the self purchase friends and family will also buy.
Once you become established then Kindle would come in also the site may be mentioned at a later date and benefit from the whole thing.
Let me know if you need help on this, the companies I have poems in the books of always have the money up front so straight to the publishers and away we go, I may send you a prize for industry lol

I always wonder how do people come so often to stream their poetry without leaving comments on others' work. I think there is much selfishness there
I keep thinking should we continue commenting on their works?
If yes, WHY!?

Thanks for your visit, we will always comment on all works even though the person concerned doesn't comment on others, two wrongs etc. but your point maybe read by some.
As I posted this Blog I am afraid that the response is going to be small, I am all for what Stan has suggested and hope that it goes ahead.

about 130 pages all told Preface Foreword etc and the Publication costs are high... very high... sky high Then selling is no joke no one bys poetry even LIbrary's shy way .

What you all must understand
though this is a teaching site as per Jess
so many here want to know
who are reading them

I am on 17 plus sites and feel elated when i come to know my pages have had 1600 plus reviews daily
mostly it ranges between 700 to 1100 ...if I don't post one poetry... it falls and an add on flies up see it's not all about money only
its being recognized for what one is doing

Think tank burst ur brains please.

For a chap book 0f approx. 40-50 poems is $250 + $6 /page. As to sales, I'd expect each person in the book would likely buy at least one copy and maybe a few more for friends and relative.

Now we come to the main reason to publish a book by members here........site recognition. But that doesn't come without "Neopoet" being within the title which would require permission of site owners. But With such permission, I'd donate at least 3-4 books to local libraries. Imagine the effect if only 6-7 other members did the same. But in the mean time a few bucks flowing into the Neo coffers would be well spent.
I can pretty much guarantee that members who Don't participate much on site will not see their poetry in this book..................Provided the book happens which will be determined by the number of people who provide feed back on this thread............stan

I think ground level. Posters on local message boards. Messages in local poet mags and zines. Most important to say is we are a workshop, not a posting site.
