Like Dante
a write, a legend made to be a classic
I want to scribe one for eternity
I've yet to find a hero for the epic
the heroine - of course, she will be me
It'll be a perfect blank iambic journey
I'll call it some-such-great-or-other saga
It'll be my very own sweet odyssey
that will go on and on and on ad-nausea
I could be up there high with those renowned
like Dante, hush the laugh, I do not jest
I know that none of you would put me down
if only I could find myself a quest
.

Judyanne
thank you for sharing this one...keep posting your fine poetry of which i am a fan...
this one stands out amongst those finely crafted four verses
I'll write how he sent kisses wrapped in sunbeams
and later on those rainclouds full of tears
which made me put away my foolish day-dreams
and washed me into life to face my fears

Extensive revisions Judy.
I think by making this focus entirely on the ambition to become among the great poets you have made this better.........stan
