spindle

wild weave the way
clutch my hand
dare we plunge
through dark
to chase the light

the madness of
masks revealing
sweet smiles
and ravenous
snarls

in the thin blade
of a thing hour
we stumble

and for a moment
our contact
lost
you find the
apple
lain in wait
and binge

now starry eyed
forever lay
the darkness
claiming
its stay

and the light
the hell
of lonliness

did you look
back
betrayed?

A really compelling piece, I was called Spindle once a while back because I was skinny and had a tendency to move fast.
Loved this write it twisted and turned but did it ever finish its work or is it still spinning??
Take care out there, Yours Ian..

all the work on the spinning wheel of old
and its gathered on that small winding..
I liked the wire recording devices
never having seen one of course...

Now its all digital but there is still
something about physical
contact...

Good Nickname!
fast I believe it!

you have a quick mind
Ian!

Thank You!

We had wire recorders in what we call the Black boxes fitted to our helicopters, they recorded as soon as the battery was switched on, every thing we could record was put on those wires, temperatures,
torque, speed attitude and many other things we had sensors fitted for.
We lost an aircraft up near Cold Lake in Alberta, the recorder registered what happened for us, the pilot accepted that the aircraft was perfect, he was doing spiral dives to take the tips of the rotor blades through the sound barrier but was 500 feet lower than he should have been and hit the ice at max speed, the bits are still there apart from the engine that we brought back. It made our exercise in Canada 7 weeks short cost me lots of dollars lol.
The crew by the way were rescued and survived without too much damage more pride than anything lol.
As most of my experiences cover many years and I took a great interest in most everything that was going on I learnt so much in this life, from working on a farm with stuff that is deemed museum pieces now, to the Iraq war and the electronics they used, also the telephone exchanges and many other jobs I did.
But I still love to wander with my mind in loads of other places and some of your writes takes my thoughts there for which I thank you,
Yours as always, Ian

although there are objects that are worn out and kept..
my fathers notion was to have old things but they all
worked...and his father too...oil stones were used..
they were never without oil and or cracked by
misuse..The water pumps were packed with proper
care...My moms old articles of use also were kept
well....Later she got on and away and did well..
They did not keep such things as a great love...
but out of a want to save money..not cheapskates
the vintage thirties power boat motor worked.
When it broke a prop we got a modern Mercury..

My compasses from the bomber planes worked
my boy scout compass i bought worked
my genuine sixties transister radio portable..
worked...typewriters also...
My older shoes I like from the Value Village
once new are great! dress shoes...I can
walk everywhere and they last me longer
then the modern materials designed to
be pure style on tarmac..

"Augered in" dont we all do that at some
point...
push too hard....go too lean....
driving others away...missing the mark..
writing is like this for me...
people were always a mystery...
but our minds make some change much
adapt always..and some the restless nature
of want keeps Me looking

I remember working with rock drills and
compressors starting deisel engines
years ago....rooftops putting in chimneys
etc....

Vintage is nice..
New is nice too..

I still remember when I found
this place and to me it was brand
new!!

Im glad my writing is in a way that
allows one to think in lateral
that was what I loved about the
magic illusion of others writing
it can be of another era but not
dated as much material is..
that is the art of either writing
or photograph of music I find...

Or Love too..
something that is with the
Genre of that time
and of its own moment!

An appreciation..
there thats it...
weather..
work
things..
love
poetry
age..
remembrance
and towards
the new
creation of the Now...

a lot said!! on
a Saturday!

Thank You!

this thing is about bright people
and how they fall for the other bright people

they get away
get bored
and sometimes end up going
back for much much worse
all in this idea of Love

and what is that?

to each person is what they
know...Many had come to sit
with me confer..advice
chats...etc..

Those people lived on a
level that is far from what satisfys
most...Having been dragged
along on a few adventures
I agree when they say they do
not feel the satisfaction
that some provide

and yet I sit with those whom
the little place..the hubby the
wifey..or big place satisfies
them...
I like their compact run of life
compared to the large complex
search for dynamic risk and
thrill the others have

and I tend to find the more brilliant
of minds goes equally the brilliance
of light and the darkness
and both are very hungry
in appetites

odd word betrayal..its old
and vintaged
an easy blame

point people

I know a lot
thinking on your feet
wits..

etc...

Like any gambler
a game of hearts
would be cats meow
for some..
but the real
stakes are where
its at

for others!!

Spindle is for space
function
there is a beauty
hardwood on banisters
not softwood

baroque has its purpose
too

I tend to greatly like
the business of function

Thank You!

There are many things to talk about here so will come back tomorrow and talk about a few other things that you have touched on, I usually use this time in the late evenings to answer comments but yours is going to be a lot of thought, so rest awhile and see you in the morrow,
