One the other side

There's trouble brewing in the pasture
Green foliage fading around the edges
Eaten through by insects on the bushes.

On the other end flush green grass grows
Oaks and pines bearing vines overgrows
And she peers into the unknown.

Some say the grass is never greener
But a mirage or something bitter
On the other side, to her it looks better.

She think a lot about traveling
Leaving her troubles where she's confined
It's the comfort she longs in her mind.

Even if she finds love
What else is lurking that may hurt
Worse than what she knows and understand?

The grass may be greener on the other side
Because here the trees are dead in wintertime
And springtime is just before summertime.

Comments

I tend to look beyond anything that just pops up
three years can go past before I consider things
even knowing I could be hit by a bus tomorrow
when I awake on my outing
I wont drop what Im doing or into
to be startled by the flim flam
Not that Im that solid either..

Your poetry is layered
in steps and methodology
that both has a reserve
and forwardness that I
am enjoying
of late

Perhaps becuase one has
to live life to experience life
to write about this is to have
tasted it
Bitter or foul
sweet and pleasurable

I was drawn into the poem by
the middle and the ending
still brings me a wry smile
I like the ending
of this poem

Something to delve
