Hurling Poetry

eye lids drooped

brain can's
garbage lid
slid
slammed
dumpty down
thumping
the gray matter
a cranial grave

lumpy brain drippings
drooled off his tongue
a bloviating
poet
had become undone

spewing now:
semi-literate giblets
a mash of gargled verbiage
a hash of balderdashery

...voila!...

a unique rhetorical feast

his agent booked a full page spread:
" a fresh sensation,,, served
with french wines and bread"

savored and swallowed
by the fad-starved and bored
the chic and shallow
pouting for more

and the critics blurbed:

"a down and dirty elegance...a frothing kettle of frou-frou
-Obliviota-

"a palate-whetting....stewing goulash of fetishing erotica"
-The Hungry Hungarian-

"gut wrenching...lathering hot and steamy"
-Emogene X Oddicas-

"don't forget your doggy bag...scoop it up"
-Moronica Illgot Jr.-

* the show closed after one performance, something about health and/or taste violations

Loved reading this, and i like your observation about humour in poetry. Regards Roscoe....

Roscoe Llane,

Religion will rip your faith off, and return
for the mask of disbelief that's left.

wow, I am late again...this fell down the list so quickly...and out of sight, out of mind, you know!
glad you found the read enjoyable.

I love humor in poetry, but not so keen on those written strictly for humor, i.e. limericks (but they are short enough to not bother me) There are plenty of other places to find silliness besides poetry...but, I don't want to rain on anyone else's parade..plus, I might want to write some myself

thanks for responding,

Al
