A Fast Food Day

Regulars lined up for a
caffeine transfusion and an
egg McSomething or other.
With the new breakfast of champions
in hand they’re ready for another
day in the neighborhood.

Back at noon along with some new faces
for a double what ever I had yesterday.
Did you want fries with that?
And none of it is fast or cheap.
They don’t call them the
golden arches for nothing.

And if you don’t like this,
the King is two blocks
down the street that way.
He doesn’t have the arches,
but watch out for that golden crown.
You ever hear of a poor king?

Review Request (Intensity):
I appreciate moderate constructive criticism
Review Request (Direction):
How was my language use?
What did you think of the rhythm or pattern or pacing?
How was the beginning/ending of the poem?
Is the internal logic consistent?

Comments

I genuinely laughed out loud.
Poetry like this is why we should all be rich, or at least making a living. Entertainment and content.
What the fuck more do people want?
Oh yes, that's it, an attention span of more than sixty seconds or to be spoon fed visually and audially for an hour or so.

I hope the reading does it some justice
