Someone's Daughter

Its the smell,
the faint sweet stench of rot
that oozes from abandoned house
as empty as the psychopath
that lured her there.

She needed cash
for drugs to make her
feel normal and forget;
he needed slow death
to feel release.

She didn't struggle,
didn't fight back when he attacked,
too surprised to react
with anything but shock.

He let her go,
once, twice, then three times,
enjoying her gasps
and nakedness,
vulnerable each time
he squeezed again.

Did she shudder at the end,
kick and squirm,
plead and beg, promise anything
to live?

Did she gaze down
upon herself when it was over
battered, bruised and lifeless
amid old needles and used condoms?

Now the house is empty once again
dead flesh added to the garbage
and even he is gone
for he was caught
after killing another,
his seventh.

That's how they found her
in the house, led to her by him,
a bargain made to stave off execution.

They bagged her empty flesh
in plastic, shutting in
the faint sweet stench of rot
so the neighbors
would stop complaining.

Your piece here fact or fiction??
I was going to shelve Digit's latest in your area until the killer was caught, I see they have arrested, Darren Vann, I will keep up with your news releases.
Sometimes a write can coincide with reality and as there are many deaths in the states, it didn't have to be that long for Digit to be in the same place as an actual murder, let alone a serial killer.
If he is the one I know what I would do with him but can't put it here on site.
A very scary write and well produced, Yours Ian.T

Its fact, I'm afraid. He killed his seventh victim in a Motel 6 a mile from our home, a cheep place we used to overnight in, when we were poor.
Glad you liked this one.

I am so sorry that there were killings in your hometown just as Digit arrived there, it was a hell of a coincidence.
I am so glad they have caught the murderer,
The piece I wrote after you said that you were safe as Digit was no where near you, (Indiana Surprise for Digit)
I wasn't sure if to publish on stream or cancel it for later, but as Digit is fiction I let it through, but added that some may find it in bad taste, but life and death run hand in hand these days and sometimes the wrong type of death creeps up too close.
Let me know your point of view on this please, at least I did my homework..

No way man, we're talking Digit here, he is most definitely behind it all! The spider at the center of the web, and all that!
Seriously though, if some find it in "bad taste" to post poetry about a serial killer at the same time an actual serial killer is caught, that's their problem, not your's or mine. Its just poetry, albeit a little more coincidental than most. You're moved by Digit, a naked flame of murder, torture and death if ever I saw one, while I was angered and moved by a grieving mother caring about the family of another victim of the same scumbag that murdered her daughter.
And life and death? One cannot exist without the other.

So no worries my English friend, there is nothing to apologize for.

I wish that I could send my best thoughts to those that are suffering from that thing that has no respect for life.
I hope that the man they have is the correct one.
My unconditional love to you all there,

He confessed to the murder, then led police to all the others.
It's him.

within moments of its publication
came along bees
to sting as if twere honey

but for me a salvation
that you have been read instantly

in the States this is a common occurrence
they say gals are aplenty
and guys penises wobbling unsteady
so they love drugged ones
who can't complain
and they release into their veins
mouths and outside vaginas
where ever
whats the need of condoms?
they all use it never
the drugged ones can't deliver
serial killers at large as ever.

your poetry down my spine
sends a shiver
do you also quiver
when such news
you deliver
I wonder

It's not that common. The murder rate is way down, and serial killers are becoming a rarity here, as the cops find better ways to catch them.
If you're referring to prostitution, well, that's just a business transaction, same as anywhere else, and most of the problems it "causes" are in fact caused by it being illegal. Those problems don't exist in places like The Netherlands and Germany, where its legal.
I'm glad that you enjoyed this one, as sad and disturbing as it is.

I think this is straight from the news. It's a sad fact that in such crimes the victims are given a back seat to the killers

Yeah, that's why I wrote this. "She's someone's daughter" is a quote from one of the victims' mothers, referring to the seventh victim.

logistics.............

and sad that the neighbours complain...Here we have the usual denizen gang and our murders
in canada are different in that they are clandestine and private...and kept so...
levels...wealth and power are different...
our freedom a bit more condensed and elbow rubbing then amerika or elsewhere..
our laws more forgiving.....

Fallen through the cracks.....
many do are and will and have..
debts owing.....risks..
risk takers
..

if you have no edge
you shave close your blurry skate
on the thin ice

Poverty is more a neighbour in the states
the states are like islands
in their laws.....their boundaries
like fuedal walls

Killers....whats to be said..
breeding new ones every day
but only by ratio to the amount of
citizens
as we populate cities and densities
of states the concentric rings of
occurence rise....

we tear down or rehabilitare our
structures up here
cut down our small brush and trees
and put up the big brother eyes

we have our gatherings
of the night people
and sad day people

at least they caught this person
they have a body

Poetry is meant for all aspects
of society and you have
captured this one well

with all light there is equally
the dark and for this we see
the edge that soceity would
stumble upon

Thank You!

Your welcome! Glad you enjoyed it.
