Thoughts From Lancelot du Lac

"I'm supposed to be the FIRST knight!
I want to sit by Guinevere!
What does it matter that Arthur isn't here?
It's a bit inconvenient
to bed my Queen
and Elaine
and...oh I forget...

I'm supposed to be brave
and handy with a sword
crafted muscles hewn
like welsh granite saved

I wasn't considered
worthy of attention by Monmouth
Gwain got all the plaudits first
mere crumbs, perhaps a footnote
in passing legends thirst
for Gothic revival

However, I'm having the last laugh

These medieval women!
Chivalry is my stock
pity those mock screaming
from 'prima nocte' survival

So now Guinevere is wining
at her nunnery
and crying like toxic
treacle

I'm playing a hermit ham
It's my best performance yet!"

Last few words:
Lancelot , the clot, doesn't know a lot.

My life is hectic...and i've not had the muse for months. I'm in need of inspiration. Perhaps I will join a workshop, who knows? Enigmatic and lazy as ever!

I approached a woman being abused by a man and offered assistance.
Woke up 2 days later in hospital with severe concussion, back and rib injuries.
A sword and thews crafted of granite might have helped.

cheers,
Jess
