BLADES,OF GRASS

BLADES OF GRASS

Like a blade of grass
pushing through
into a sea iridescent green
the same as all others
striving to survive under the sun
until Life's cycle is done.
so am I,
so are we all.
and we suffer
in the knowing of what is to come.

The probability of you as a piece of grass ending up the same as all the others is vast.
I was resting as a blade of grass does, by bending down away from the sun, then noticed a great noise from the sky, I leapt up and couldn't find any of my kind, it is said the they were mowed whatever that means, So now I stand tall in an ocean of green,
is it a chill I feel as I look around again.
No it is a change in the seasons and Winter comes after this fall, I feel a change and done my warmer suit of beige, making sure it is strong enough to bear up against the cold winds I have been told of.
These stories they told me just cannot be, each of us are so different, I only rested and everything changed around me, damn it why did I grow a head of dark pearls, what a pretty child that grasped me, and took me home saying to her Mother look this will do now we have seven.
I am now part of a corn dolly, that may last for ever who knows, Yours Ian.T

There are a million reasons to believe in yourself,
So find more reasons to believe in others..

Thank you for providing an insight into blade of grass. I had never looked at it that way. In the short and crisp poem, you have provided a fresh outlook and meaning.

I will end up among the trees,
whispering for a short while my poems on the wind,
then they will dissipate
and become the astral breeze
that spins the planets in their spirals
to infinity.

I like that thought, not any man imagined paradise or hell,
just a part of all that is.

Love the colours you create with this,
the green green of Life- such a wonderful thing.

"The image of yourself which you see in a mirror Is dead,
but the reflection of the moon on water, lives." Kenzan.

my only change would be in the last line Geremia..
would "in the Knowing of what is to come"
or would that be correct to place "what's to come"
which sounds much different and changes the
tone of the poem?

I like the smooth and descriptive clairity of this!

thank you!

I like this! Man has such great fun in imagining that the inanimate and lower forms of life, have recognizable intelligence! It must be the massive ego; that we the superior form of life on this planet possess, that allows us to do so. After all, those of us that are so much smarter than everyone else must have something beneath us! LOL
Great write, though a little meandering. ~ Gee

This must be the place, 'cause there ain't no place like this place anywhere near this place.

you grow and shear

as the blades of grass over here
and as ma'am has so rightly expressed
going up a tree
as going up a fountain
and whispering good bye
to all your poetry and dreams
as all poetry dissolves into the vastness of nature's naturality
the ocean
the wind
the dream
anything you hope to deem
the grass which will come again
will be born green
so does it seem
as we all through mortal life
we all in our turn gleen
