Another city, another life
I opened a new chapter
to rise from the ashes yesterday,
discarding painful memories
of a childhood torn asunder
by the monster called "Father"

I used to be dragged down by senseless guilt,
confused by the ill perception of love
but those grim days were long gone.
Now I'm a woman who knows her worth.
Let idiots try to lay their hands on me,
they'll find a lioness in me,
breaking them 'till they beg for mercy.

My first day in the office here,
I saw the male colleagues sneer
they doubted a woman can do better
when the job title is criminal reporter
I worked hard to earn their respect,
proving I'm not poor in intellect
and slowly the cloud of doubt dispersed
replaced by trust and loyalty
among dear friends.

One evening, I was called by my chief
who introduced me to an insider,
I was asked to work with him,
the man who works undercover,
dealing with dangerous scumbags
who treat others' lives like rags

I was told that there's corruption,
lurking among law enforcers
and my chief wanted me to help him,
find the gang of traitors.

Little did I know that this is the beginning
of a strong bond among hunters.
