THE STAR COLLECTOR

An inexplicable start
an inexplicable end
the two flagpoles
that mark
an enigmatic journey

Lie soft
and unhindered
untainted
and submissive
for the upward spiral
of a tiny white serpent

Yielding to its
benign
and delicate touch
the lotus flower
opens to receive
the light of a million
stars

You are no more
what you thought
you were

You are
the stream
that got lost to a river
you are the river
that got lost to the ocean

This evening I have read three writes that are beaut,
this being one of them,
we are as the stars,
and will swirl within their patterns one day,
and sometimes we will be the stars
and watch others swirl within our reaches,
yet there the things we see are only passing,
it is the things that are,
they are the structure of the stars,

for reading. I really enjoy the way you throw the light of your own understanding of a poem. It adds another dimension.

I do appreciate a discerning reader which is what you are.

This is indeed a beautiful abstract write using nice analogy through and through to describe the enigmatic journey. I wish to know though why you chose the title because I believe there may be more abstract in that too.

The Star Collector is a metaphor for a person who is in the evolutionary process of a spiritual journey. I actually refer to the light, stars emit.

Yes. you are right, there is indeed something very abstract about this piece. I am sure you are aware that the white serpent refers to the Kundalini which - according to Vedantic Philosophy - is lodged at the bottom of the spine. After dedicated spiritual practice, this serpent unfolds and starts moving towards the lotus chakra which is lodged at the in the crown of the head. The encounter between the serpent and the lotus chakra brings about enlightenment .

This concept has always - like much in our Ventac Philosophy - fascinated.
