Regarding Tells, or Hints of Deception, or Insincerity in the content of text.

Forums:

I wanted to bring this here after my other site failed to rasp what I was getting at. Anyone familiar with Micro expressions have an idea about the general idea of what I am going for. I want to take that detection to text, and composition. To read between the lines. Please share your take on tells people make when insincere, or being outright deceptive in their written presentations.

In ink,
David

I know what you are talking about. Sometimes I believe they believe they are being honest but the subtext is a hideous lie.
To give a gross example-
someone writes a poem exhorting us to pray for the victims of a a natural disaster. If they believe in an interventionist god why not pray for him to not cause the disaster.?. They are fucking hideously self-deluded or just plain stupid.

Is the sort of thing you are talking about am I missing your point?

Certainly anything that contains inferences of an interventionist god is just plain stupid.

Maybe you are talking about the murderous "right-to-lifers" who bomb abortion clinics but give no social support or welfare to crack babies?

The "tells" you refer to, I presume you are making a poker refer are a dead give away. Anything to do with goodness, light, divinity, the right to bear rocks.

Sorry If I've read you all wrong man, set me straight.

Subtext always exists, it is the unspoken ideas between the lines of the poetry. It is important to recognise it because it can make hideous hatred look like loving righteousness.

Jess

dealing with a christian online that crashed an atheist group so I pulled my gambit on him. said I would be obliged to convert if he(On his facebook page and in his heart denounce the trinity with blaspheme then I would convert That is the Unpardonable Sin ,. So the thread is for how to gauge the sincerity or out right deception like if you read the nigerian scam letters they fit a pattern with the language, cadence, and tone and key words and phrases to appeal and flatter the duped reader into the idea, r pity one. I know one thing people who lie via chat pause longer then when being candid, and i am gifted now in spotting bot profiles online date sites and phishing profileshttp://www.trowel.com/flamason/what.htm. So what I am saying is how do you disect the common internet lies, or exaggerations.

It's a bit harder to detect in poetry, a good writer can
place themselves virtually anywhere but an honest one
finds that ability shady at times.

I personally can see through most shmooozers, with
uncanny accuracy.

You can find it in poetry, poems directed at individuals
or individual ideas.

Whenever I see something in which every other paragraph is a link to somewhere else I start to think the other person feels they are on shaky ground. It is my opinion that if you truly believe what you're talking about you should be able to get your point about it across in your own words instead of using links to quote somebody else.

Now as to poetry the "get" can often be found in the details or imagery. Eg.
I love the smell of ripened muscadines
hanging blue upon their soaring vines.............when in actuality ripe ones are do dark a purple as to be nearly black.
And the over use of cliche can sometimes reveal this also...................stan

when peple rotate the person perspective about threir alleged experience, or encounter. Going from first person to second to third. Implying what others thought about something is also a context flag.

just does't have something appealing about it.
I believe very few people I encounter online so many personas.

True, there are some genuine aphorisms and memes amongst the "I need coffee" and "took a good dump today". Sure, a brilliant aphorism or meme can have an epiphanic effect, however most are blunt lies or worse, bland and trivial.

No matter how brilliant none can have the profound effect of such works as Jung's complete works.
