my personal views

welI I just returned from across eternity ,
now they all call it www ....only

Stephen Fry's "The Ode Less Travelled"

I READ SOME RAVE REVIEWS
SOME AND MANY MOSTLY
GAVE IT A FIVER STAR
NOT DOLLAR
FEW shaved OFF ONE
AND ANOTHER ADDED
A MINUS

TILL A BOLD MAYBE SILLY GUY LIKE ME...
GAVE IT A SINGLE*
STAR

Thank god there were no minus
else all would crave for darkness!

But I gathered the nerve
to tell Jess
I am still brilliantly
the idiotic best
with still
a broad bare chest

He reads me
that's enough
I am a poet
that is no bluff

like any other
my dear Jess

Comments

You really didn't like it ?
I know some people don't like Fry's smartarse style but surely you found knowledge? Some new ways of seeing? Perhaps you didn't like the exercises (they are optional you know).

Do me a favour, please? Tell me why the minus. In the plainest, most lucid prose of which you are capable, please?

cheers,
Jess

then they DEDUCT marks for waffling
either one knows or one doesn't
why sham

Hope I have made myself coherent in plain language
looks like American English

Jess thanks
i did become wiser though
and

And I suspect you are suspicious of adding an element of science i.e. knowledge to the art of poetry.

During my Visual Arts BA I did a stream in painting ( I wasn't very good) and in an experiment with splash and dribble (a la Pollack) over a painting of a boot, using acrylic paint, I asked my tutor how long acrylic needed to dry before I could use wet sand paper to partially reveal the image beneath. He replied "You are here to experiment". I replied "Fuck off you wanker!" and went and asked someone else who told me in simple terms, depending on wetness, humidity etc. It was a simple technical question the answer to which could have saved the experiment itself, which was of greater importance.
My point?
We can learn simple answers that can lead to greater solutions by learning a few simple techniques.

I need to ask, and there is no shame in the answer, do you suffer from some form of dyslexia?

cheers,
Jess

beautiful

I need to ask, and there is no shame in the answer,
do you suffer from some form of............. dyslexia?

wonderful how did you know ??????
we all suffer from something
as no one is perfect
as perfection lies in soles
boot soles
of a miniscule few
I for one Jess
still and will admire you
for what ever you
to save my skin
wish and want me to do

You are really wonderful
dear Jess!

In the morning of life
comes a tomorrow
for some it brings joys
for a few sorrows

what will tomorrow be for me
who can but Jess tell me

I love the moment today
dyslexia or not
life has its own way
we all come on the stage to play
and as we enact
on the stage
out we go away

some are pulled
some pushed away
who will but Jess tell

How loved will pass out
that pathway!!!

Neopoet is an entity of which we are all parts.

I would hope to be missed if I left but Neopoet will remain far the best site on the web for poets seeking to improve their work.

If and only if we all give as much as we can in terms of critique., not just praise.

cheers,
Jess

I was born perfect, but sadly had to join the humon race.
Maybe one day in that infinity that is out there I may attain that perfection once again. Doubt it though LOL.
I have uploaded Steven Fry's book on to my Kindle but have yet to read.
Loved you have probably been watching our Steven on QI where he is a little eccentric and many negative point are given.
Loved all people have their little foibles which are nurture to that persons needs.
As Neopoet needs critics soon I think I shall retire and as Sparrow to take over he can even kills Robins.
Love to you both and it is said that there is no scientific reason why life should be taken seriously..

and I repeat there would be no shame in it if it were true. One of our most beautiful poets suffers from severe dyslexia and I edit all their work before posting to make it intelligible.

the reason I asked is because of the extreme difficulty you seem to have to making replies in plain English. Again, it was not an accusation, it was a question of concern, wondering if perhaps I could be of assistance.

Jousting in the park, did you know that this is why we drive on the left here in old England, because they would have to if they were jousting. then there is also the correct side to walk with a lady so that you draw your sword across to protect her as she walks on your right side lol, but manner now dictate that you walk on the outside nearest the road, my, how things change.
There are many things in this world that make me smile broadly and now I have found another, loved trading sweet words with a Kookaburra, or is it the one that the Kook looks after.
The croc and the lion are in fits of laughter to hear such fun.
See even I am being so silly it will take me a while to recover, Yours J . Sparrow

We just dropped the S off of the beginning, now we use words from left to right, or if we really want to be silly we can use the "S" word, words cut just as deep as the old fashioned sword.
Have a great day out there where ever you are ???
