Fire Meet Gasoline

Fire meets gasoline
There is sure to be
An explosion.

I'm exploding
Everyday I'm awaken
And see that
My world has not change.

Simple interaction
Ignites a spark
Trying to get it right
Explodes into a ball of fire

Setting my flesh to flames
Like lightening
I reach for the truth
But it leaves me burning
Wrangling on the ground
For some water to cool me.

A cape to smother the fire
Bursting, hotter hotter in me
I submit to the torture
I have no more strength to endure, inhale.

Barbra,
This is as touching as it must be. I could feel the flames burning everywhere. This is sad how sometimes even the closest to us hurt us the most.
One thing I wasn't sure about is the last "inhale". Maybe I have missed something here.

Thanks reading. I was in a weird place and needed to write. The last line is as I think you suspect. The ending express death or giving up the fight. The ending could Turn out differently according yo your perspective. I could have ended with inhale—exhale letting it go and moving forward. Or something positive. I wasn't positive at that moment. But am now.

Thanks for reading. Anger fits well here and is fiery explosive anger. Here the abuse is the explosive. Ether way she dies thus inhale never exhaling.

I am not sure who or what is causing the explosion. Interaction with whom? Get what right? Reach for the truth about what? For a not-too-bright reader like me this poems needs to be a little clearer in meaning, despite all its powerful imagery.
Best wishes,
Robert.

Thanks for reading. Verbal mental emotional abuse caused the explosion. Interaction with fiery words and minds games from the wicked one. Reach for the truth giving a person what they say the want just to be treated with contempt wrong is wrong okay but is what's wanted and right is hated bring on massive abuse. Like fire meet gasoline you explode acting out but actually not doing it. Makes sense?
