Evermore

You asked me,
"why do you cry?"
I replied,
"only the sky knows this",
you said,
"you require the blue
of day to fade?"
I replied,
"it began at dawn."

---

each day
my lead wears down
when fingers
scribble with a stub
will anything remain
of me to write?
or will iron
seep into my veins
and my finger take over
marking lines
in steel

but now I know,
it matters not,
as the sun curls
warming the surface
of the earth,
the wind bounces
off the stratosphere
singing along
the equator of love,
a sea of lobsters
crawls across the dermis
of the planet,

life will go on
with or without my pencil

and my poem is evermore

Your emotional trip seems to be easier of late, it is lovely to see you plaiting words together without so much pain.
Many will learn from your pen as they drift with life and feel its differing temperatures.
Yours as always Ian.T

I am very happy you liked this one I wrote it a long time ago and I decided to finish it off yesterday, I am happy with how it turned out, I may still tweak it a little but for the time being I will see what everyone thinks

An amazing write. I'll have to print this one out if you don't mind. "you require the blue or day to fade?... I replied it began at dawn" I love it. Are you published? You really should be

I don't mind at all I am rather chuffed you want a copy of it, And I was meant to be published a while back but things fell through I may try again but the first letdown made me think I wasn't meant to be published and since I haven't submitted anything, anywhere thank you

Of course you are meant to be published. The problem is that so much of the poetry that is successful today is samey crap. YOu stand head and shoulders above that. It well take time but poetry lovers will thank you for it.

I plan on furthering my skills in the future, I may just bite the bullet and start submitting stuff again, I thought I wasn't good enough self doubt can kill dreams in my experience, one day I may be published... Guess only time will tell...

I know you can do it! about the self doubt, well, I got that prob too, you know I think mine is worse but I'm trying to take it as a challenge, one step at a time. A friend used to tell me if a baby gives up, he won't be able to walk, let alone run. its because he didn't, that he finally can do the things he do. There's a lesson there. Don't stop trying. your worst enemy is yourself.

i don't know if i'll be as good as you but i'm not stopping myself from dreaming and trying.hell no!

Hope can be crippling I gave up hope and now let fate dictate what will be, I would love to be published I won't lie, but just to know people other than myself read my poetry and take something away from it gives me a great deal of pleasure, I have become satisfied with my lot as it is...one day fate may smile and grant my wish but I can't imagine it, its only a dream so far

i won't miss a chance
to see magic anywhere
the only problem here is
i can't stop feeling a little
jealous of your skills (sigh)

will i ever be as good as any of you??
only time will tell

There are many, more skilled poets, I am still learning as we all are I have only become serious about my writing in the last few years, I hope with time and experience I get better at my craft, for me poetry is a passion and an art, i read poets and think how far i have to go to be that good

With work and imagination set free your words will fly and nest on the page give it time you just have to find your voice once you do there will be no stopping you
