I have been asked enough time "what is a chat room moderator" that I felt the need to give a description of same.

Pre-moderator
Any member may become one. They are in short moderators in training for the moderators/host program

Training consists of
four(4) open chat rooms( no theme)

you will be evaluated on each room. No pre moderator will be left in a room on their own. The director or co director will be monitoring you and at the same time coaching you.

Evaluation will be based on
A) your ability to lead the room into a conversation
B) your ability to keep order within the room
C) whether you communicate well and include ALL room members
D)your ability to stay focused and keep your guests focused on whatever the discussion might be

Once your four open rooms are completed and evaluated you will then go on to
MODERATOR

this program includes three(3) theme rooms plus all of the above
again you will be evaluated for each room and will have someone there with you

Once this has been done and your evaluations passed

you then become Host

You may choose your topics or theme
for example: Geezer has a room titled The Dark Side

or you may change your topic each month

anymore in depth questions that you have I will gladly answer via pm Chinablue

It really is not difficult and takes but a little time from your daily lives but you get the satisfaction of
1) helping Neo Poet
2)Leadership

and most of all it can be a lot of fun
