Alan Stuart Jeeves is my real name. I live in a small town called Meltham in West Yorkshire, England. I am around 20 miles (32 Km) from the cities of Leeds and Manchester. The area where I live is a rural area and much of my work is 'country' driven.
I am a musician and poet and my days are spent writing/playing music and writing poetry. I play (electric) guitar and have played since 1964. I have a collection of guitars which I covet very much. When people ask why I need so many I tell them that I intend to sell them when I grow up.

I also spend a lot of time with horses so much of my poetry is inspired by them or nature's bounty (which surrounds my home).

I live fairly close to Haworth, the home of the Bronte family, and can visit the parsonage (now a museum dedicated to the sisters) whenever I choose. I can also walk the moors which inspired much of their work (especially Wuthering Heights).

Many, many poets are on my list of greats but, if pressed, I would have to choose R. Kipling as a favorite. His 'The Way Through The Woods' is, I think, my favorite poem (up to now) ~ a poem I was first introduced to when I was around 10 years old.
