Workshop Program: Description and Guidelines

About
Workshops on Neopoet are groups that meet for a certain period of time to focus on a certain aspect of poetry. Each workshop participant is asked to critique all the other poems submitted into a workshop. A workshop leader helps coordinate -- they set the agenda, give participants feedback on whether their submissions and critique are at they level expected of them, and after the workshop is over, give feedback to participants.

Once added to a workshop, you will see your pen name on the workshop syllabus page. You can select the relevant workshop while submitting a poem, which will link your submission to the workshop (a dropdown menu will be visible with the title "Workshop". The default is "-none-", which you will be able to change). To submit a critique to a workshop poem (if you are a workshop member), first, start to submit a comment normally. You'll see a selector titled "workshop critique", and, if you are submitting a critque in the right place, you'll be able to select the name of the workshop.

There are multiple levels of workshop. These are called "pools". Each level is not mutually exclusive; any member is allowed to join any pool, although the leaders may suggest that a particular workshop may not be appropriate for you at this time. We suggest you apply by private message, so a refusal will not be public or a cause for embarrassment.
