In freeform , Freeverse or unstructured poetry I have been taught and led to understand that it is not mandatory that the poem rhyme
nor does it need punctuation
it should however have a nice even flow throughout elsewise you start to trip over your words
all this information is available on line
hence the given name of freeform or free verse etc
freeform=no retrictions
that is not to say the writer if they wish is not permitted to rhyme or punctuate the point I am making is that it is not mandatory
