+inspired by the movie, Reign Over Me

Can you erase a memory?

Or can you replace it?
Content yourself with
kitchen remodels, and
paint colors; card by

card, hue after hue.

This color doesn’t look
like him.  What about
the trim, does it look
like her?  I saw the

wallpaper with the horses,

and the cowboys, but
the rider didn’t have any
spurs on his boots.  How
does he get as fast as

he needs to be?  Does he

ask the horse how she’s
feeling, coax her gently
to trot.  He ought not
push her too hard or

she’ll kick him off.  And

neigh, with angry grunts,
“Put another quarter in.”
And he’ll search through
his pockets, and behind

his teeth.  The kids are in

line, down the street,
waiting for a turn.  He
gets up, and walks away.
It turns out he wasn’t ready

to remodel his life away.

time

I think it all fades in time and ya can be ready to build a new house :)
i think the question is - how long can I wait for a new kitchen or ride another ride on the “merry go round” When will the gold ring be mine? Your poem takes me places Lauren.
Thanks,
Mark
