We’ve extensively upgraded the website over the past week, adding many minor features.

One that stands out is the new login process. While we still approve accounts before allowing full features, users can now access a limited version of the site before their application is approved. They can submit poetry and short stories and use advanced search features. They can also immediately select what password they would like - skipping the step of changing your password later. We’ve also made it easier to log in. You may login using your pen name or your e-mail address.

If you’re having trouble logging in, it may be a one time affect of the website upgrade. Try forcing a logout by clicking on the following URL:

Look around the site and see if you can spot the over a dozen other upgrades and improvements we’ve made this week. As usual, if you have any issues, please don’t hestitate to get in touch with us.

Warm regards,

The Poet411 Technology TeamĀ

One Question

Only question I do have right now and maybe I am just totally overlooking it.. However I have read from a couple of people about a spell check when we post a poem?? Where do I find this?? lol..

It only works if you use

It only works if you use Internet Explorer and download a plug in - it’s definitely not a perfect solution. We’re working on a major upgrade that actually does the spell checking on the server - that way it’s 100% compatible with whatever way you access the site.

We should have this out in the near future.

However, in general, we recommend you write your poetry or short stories in an application - like Microsoft Word or OpenOffice - and then copy and paste it to Poet411. We wouldn’t want to be at fault if something goes wrong and your post gets eaten by our server!

Well, I guess it took less time than I thought - full spellcheck is up and running! Try it out and let me know.
