Precarious Balance
Battles rage , mind is ablaze
Try and see through confusions haze
Some are dieing, others are trying to take what is rightfully mine
Battle weary and skirmish worn
A tree in a hurricane that is twisted and torn
An uprooted life hangs in the balance
Sleep an illusion, while wakefulness an intrusion
Where is it written I haven’t the right
To search for unthinkable dreams of the night
Where others won’t let me abide
A means to an end, as I break and bend
In the uncertainty of solutions to append
And love still hangs in precarious balance
.
I want the raw truth, feel free to knock me on my back
This is what happens when stress and lack of sleep abounds

I understand
I too often can’t sleep also. I like this poem.
Sleep an illusion, while wakefulness an intrusion
Where is it written I haven’t the right
To search for unthinkable dreams of the night
Where others won’t let me abide
This says it all. Good write. Jeanette
