Have you published?
have I published?
of course I haven’t published
to publish you have to submit
to submit you have to write.
Most of the time I can’t write
and am pathologically incapable of submitting
except in the soothing
pseudo-anonimity of the web.
There is a story
can’t verifiy its veracity,
that all Kafkas surviving manuscripts are singed at the edges
He threw them in the fire
unsatisfied
but his friend
knowing his habits
rushed in and kidnapped them
and submitted them.
I don’t have such a friend
except the web.

I like your thread going from you to I to you to I, ending, of course, in I. Other threads, too. This speaks so well to a hopeful writer’s vulnerabilities.
Thanx for sharing something so this close to home.
Refreshed regards,

This is quite a picture of
This is quite a picture of self doubt (we all have it) Not meaning your doubt, the subject in the poem. Even on the web, however the rejection smacks just like on the perverbial pink slip from Mr. Mail. It’s just that the rejection gets to yo faster! Loved this patch of reality!

I heard that
somewhere before about Kafka’s manuscripts. You know, it was funny because I was reading this thinking “man, this sounds just like what I would do.” Not the writing, but the non - submittal. Lately I’ve been more in favor of emotion - based poetry, but here is a logic - based poem that I really dig, maybe because it hits so close to home. Oh, and “verify its veracity?” F*cking gold, man.
BAM!
right there. captured so much. i really like the dialouge. or is it a monolouge? left open. gold. hey thanks for all the crit on my stuff, i really apreciate it.
